Hey all,

My wife & I are going to the World next weekend for our birthdays! We originally were going to stay off-site, but we talked more about it this weekend, and decided we would rather stay on site at a Value resort!

When I try to go book one online, it tells me no resorts are avaliable! I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions? Thanks!

You will have to call. Because of Valentine's Day the next week, they are probably booked up.

My mom and I looked at trying to book into the values for next week and got the same thing. (I later discovered there is a huge cheerleader competition going on over the weekend). The only one that came up (and that was only sometimes) was Art of Animation. And really that prices out to being a moderate anyways. So this is what my mom and I did: We went to both priceline.com and book-it.com to see what the hotel rates in downtown Disney area were. You don't get Extra Magic Hours with any of them except for I think the Holiday Express there?? But other than that you have access to the buses via Downtown Disney and also obviously have the benefit of being near the restaurants there ext. We came really close to booking there. Really not a bad option at all

But!! Then we saw that priceline offered great rates on the Swan and Dolphin, which I think technically classifies as a Deluxe. You do get the Extra Magic Hours with the S&D and get the buses, plus you are located smack dab between Epcot and DHS. Think we are paying something like 90 per night. We ended up pricing it out and we would have paid more by actually booking the value resort at Disney! And instead we ended up choosing the S&D, a nicer less crowded hotel with all the benefits. Priceline offered discounts on the Disney tickets at least at the time we booked too so we saved some money there. I believe though, if your interested in the Downtown Disney option, we looked at the Wyndham at Lake Buena Vista (which is inside Disney property), and the book-it option was less expensive, though we did have to buy the tickets to the parks through Disney. But everything else including flight and hotel was through the website.

We usually do try to book through the Disney site but with all the values booked up, we were just priced out of booking via Disney at that point so finding that deal on the Dolphin was amazing. Hope you can find something similar :)

The only DD hotel that has after hours is the Hilton. The Doubletree Suites doesn't have EMH, but they do have bus service to the parks and DD-- which you could easily walk to. They have good rates if you watch their site. You do have to pay for parking if you bring a car. All their rooms are suites, with a decent little kitchen area.
If we stay in a non Disney resort, that's where we stay. It's close to everything.
