Questions about FP usage for Wishes and Illuminations

I have several questions regarding this topic so bare with me. And thank you for your thoughts and opinions in advance. I get to book our FP next weekend and I really want to get this straight in my head.

We are spending our first two full days at MK. We have breakfast at CP at 8 am and plan on being done by the time the park opens at 9am. My dad and my husband are going on the Keys to the Kingdom tour at 9:30. So from CP I plan on b-lining to Princess Fairytale Hall and getting in line for Anna/Elsa. We have until 11:30 to fit in meeting Merida, Tiana and Ariel in her mermaid costume. I hope to be able to get FP to Anna/Elsa and Ariel if I can. We would like to fit in Fairytales with Belle too. So I am going to try to get those three FP. We want to FP Wishes and the Electrical Parade. Are they hard to pick up later in the day? We have Tea at the GF at noon. We will come back to MK after that and will try to fit in whatever we can that we didn't get done from that morning. We will meet up with the guys in time to watch the 3:00 FOF and then head to BBB at the castle at 4. We would like to get in IASW, 7DMT, Dumbo, Tea Cups. Then on Sunday we will be there at rope drop and ready to go and will stay until about 4:30 and then head to an ADR at Biergarten since MK will be closed at 7 for MNSSHP.

I have the same question about Epcot, how hard is it to pick up a FP for Illuminations? We will be there on a Monday and plan on doing all we can in FW befor 11am and then spending from 11 until close at the World Showcase.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that you will be able to get same-day fastpasses for MSEP, Wishes or Illuminations. I just made my 60 day fastpass choices for September (typically a slower season) and Wishes was already gone for my dates.

That said, I have used a fastpass for both Wishes and Illuminations (simply because we were arriving at the parks late in the day and wanted to try out the viewing area) and honestly the views were no better than in other locations in MK and around the lagoon at Epcot.

If you want to ride 7DMT without a substantial wait, you should make that one of your fastpass choices.

Thanks @Tuvalu for the input! The only reason we were thinking FP for fireworks is so we don't have to waste time sitting saving a spot for each one. I'm inclined to do it for MK and not for Illuminations. Only because my Mom has never seen MSEP or Wishes and this is like her 10th trip. So I really want her to fully enjoy it. She is trying to get the dessert party for Wishes but hasn't had any luck yet.

So we got a illuminations dessert party reservation on Sunday after our Biergarten ADR so we can enjoy Illuminations that night and ride rides maybe on Monday night.

@CAPTAIN HOOK we enjoy fireworks but my husband does not enjoy people pushing and being rude and having to camp out for and hour before they start to ensure a good spot. So I am trying to ensure that he gets to enjoy them and I don't have to worry about him being ****y. Happy husband happy wife.

That's the beauty of fireworks - they're in the sky, so you don't need to camp out anywhere. You just arrive and look up.

As for people pushing by and being rude - I've never had that issue

We've unfortunately had people push our daughter out of the way or stand in front of her. That really ticked him off and I had to make sure he didn't get escorted out of the park. It's wonderful if you experience some of the great people, which we have had most of the times, but every now and then you get some entitled SOB.

It happens and I try very hard to not let it bother me. My husband hates rude people though and has a hard time just rolling with the punches.

I have heard that the Wishes FP area is very crowded now. You may be better off trying to find an out of the way place to view them if you can't get Dessert Party reservations.
