Magic Kindgom: Columbia Harbor House or Cosmic Ray's. Cosmic Ray's has more of a selection.

Epcot: Electric Umbrella or Sunshine Seasons. The strawberry shortcake at Sunshine Seasons is great!

Animal Kindgom: Flame Tree Barbecue is really good! It's something different besides hamburgers or chicken tenders.

Hollywood Studios: Not much of a selection and quite honestly, I've never had a counter service at HS. We've always used a table service for 50's prime time cafe.

Downtown Disney: Earl of Sandwich is the way to go! Good sandwiches!

Wow, newbie. Travel much? Unbelievable how some people fail to comprehend the simplest things, like ordering food at WDW.

I kid.
:animwink:

Hah, thanks .. no I do travel often, just don't want to waste my time eating somewhere that sucks or isn't worth it .. and considering I haven't been to Disney since 2004 - a lot has changed .. so that's why I ask ..

Welcome to the boards!

I would suggest Teppan Edo at the Japan Pavillion. I have also heard some decent reviews of The Wave at the Contemporary, I will be trying that on my next trip in August (same time as you actually!) :)

aww yay! not ready for the heat!

Counter Service

Magic Kingdom- I really recommend Pecos Bill's, or if you like Mexican(southwest food) El Pirata Y el Perico. My family & I ate there recently. Food was good, not a big kids menu. Another good pick, if you like fish, Coulumbia Hbor house is really good too. I hear Cosmic ray's has a huge menu, haven't been there recently.

Epcot- We tried Tangerine Cafe(Morocco). Pleasantly surprised!! Very good & you get tons of food for CS. Sunshine Seasons is another good pic. Large menu & tasty food.

HS- Didn't do CS at this park. We left that day and went to TREX, which was a big mistake. Was not worth the money, kids loved the atmosphere.
My friend told me that Starring Roles was pretty good.

AK- Defintley Flame tree, huge portions & delicious. We also tried Yak & Yeti CS, that was very good, if you like Asian. I recommend the Honey Chicken.

My boyfriend and I are going to Disney World with two friends of ours August 15-21. We are on the dining plan and have an extra table service meal but dont know where to use it. We are eating at Cap'n Jack's (8/15), Chef Mickey's(8/16), Kona Cafe(8/17), Hoop Dee Doo Revue(8/18), Sci Fi Dine In(8/19) and of course Le Cellier(8/20). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tusker House!!!! Breakfast was really good!! Have not tried lunch or dinner!!

Another vote for Pecos Bill's. The only downfall in "busy" season is getting your food and finding someplace to sit before it gets cold. I don't understand the love for Cosmic Ray's, but to each their own. Casey's Hot Dogs are fabulous and they do have a QS Meal available.

Epcot has to be Sunshine Seasons. Soooo much to choose from.

DHS...meh. We did Pizza Planet for the kids. Nothing QS there is worth mentioning.

I'll echo the Flame Tree BBQ and Yak & Yeti QS that has been mentioned.

Have a magical trip.

Because my DH & I can never agreed, here's our 2 favs :)
MK - Casey's & Main Street Bakery
EP - Rose & Crown QS & Sunshine Seasons
AK - Yak & Yeti QS & Flame Tree
HS - ABC Commissary & Pizza Planet
DD - Earl of Sandwich & Wolfgang Express

I'm hungry now :p

Add me to the list of Sunshine Seasons and Wolfgang Puck Express Fans. You will find that if lots of people do recommend them it really is worth checking out (we did just that with these two above last summer). And seriously what is up with the QS at DHS? I have not found a good QS meal there ever. I dread meals at that place which happens to be my least favorite park too- am gonna try Starring Rolls next time I guess or maybe revisit Pizza Planet. I agree with whoever said avoid the ABC commisary and whatever the place near Star Tours is (some warehouse whose name has slipped mymind and I am too lazy to look up) gets a thumbs down from me too.

The place by Star Tours is Backlot Express. How come nobody eats at Studio Catering? Is it the location? Too buried in the back?

Let's see:
If Pirate y Peritico (SP?) is open at MK, def. head there for lunch. Otherwise, Peco's Bill. Here's a new suggestion to avoid counter service at DHS. Take a boat ride to Yacht and Beach Club. Hurricane Hannah's makes an awesome salad. Green apple, dried cherry, grated white cheddar, chicken and white balsmic vinegarette on fresh greens. YUM! I'm drooling just thinking about it!

My family just loves Pecos Bill...the kiddies always want to eat there as our 1st counter service!! (they LOVE the mushrooms).....also Sunshine Seasons at epcot is yummy!! We haven't eaten at flame tree in years but based on these posts I may have to try it on our upcoming trip in July..what do you suggest we order there??:slurp:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was able to reserve a late lunch at Boma (AKL) on Monday afternoon. The menu looks fantastic and neither my boyfriend nor I have ever set foot at that resort. Should be a great experience. Thanks
