I don't know how swapping credits works, but my boys can go into Les Hailles and make a meal out of 3 items

Just like that. Go up to the cashier and say "I'd like to use a quick-service meal credit."

You have much more flexibility than that. You could use all your snacks on one day if you wanted. People assume that you must use one TS, one QS, and one snack per day, but you can load up on certain days and have days where you use no credits, etc.

If you plan to swap a MEAL credit for 3 snack credits, the 3 snacks MUST be purchased in the same transaction. For example, you could swap a meal credit for 3 pretzels in Germany, or 3 pastries from the bakery in Norway. But you cannot swap a meal credit for one snack in England, one snack in France and one snack in Morocco.

Yes 14 nights with QS it was free on our deal we thought about upgrading but it was stupid money £3200 !!! same price as the holiday !! I am sure it will be loads of food that is why we are thinking of using some credits for holiday gifts.

That sounds wrong, its only £12 per night difference between the quick service dining plan (two QS meals 1 snack) and the regular dining plan (1 QS, 1 table service, 1 snack). So even for four adults it would only be £672 to upgrade.

I think you were looking at the deluxe dining plan upgrade, which is £70 per night (so £43 more than the quick service), the deluxe plan is three table service meals including starters (appetizers) per day. So upgrading to the deluxe plan for four adults would be £2400.

I took the prices from here http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Disney-Dining-Plan-p-125.html as I couldn't find the UK prices on a Disney site.

You might want to look again at getting the regular plan as it can be quite nice to have a sit down meal or a character buffet a few times on a trip.

Also remember that you can now use the dessert credit at a quick service meal for any snack. So you could have French onion soup at Be Our Guest in place of dessert or onion rings at Flame Tree BBQ.

Swapping a QS credit for three snacks isn't great value if you were paying for the DDP, but compared to wasting a credit if you have it for free, its better than not using it at all.

In the uk because the qs was free they say we have to buy the he whole dining package not just upgrade. We went direct to Disney but they can't help because the holiday was booked through a travel agent not through them. We have booked California grill and 2 character breakfasts and rain forest cafe. So thought the upgrade would be brilliant but sadly not at that price

I think your travel agent is doing something wrong then unfortunately. We booked direct with Disney and were offered the opportunity to upgrade when booking (in the end we booked a deluxe hotel so didn't need to upgrade, but I worked out all my price comparisons including the upgrade to regular DDP). I'm pretty certain when I looked at booking with Virgin Holidays as well they offered the option to upgrade the dining plan as well when booking.

With hindsight you may have been better off booking direct with Disney.
