Pending the actual approval of time off at work, looks like our 10 year anniversary gift will be a short trip to see the mouse.

Looking like we will do a room only on September 7th, do parks the 8th and 9th and then sleep in on the 10th and drive back home.

Its about 11-12 hours in the car split between 2 of us, so its not bad, and we like a good road trip.

I planted the seed in her head about taking the plunge for AP, so maybe this short low key trip will show her its doable :)

Im thinking we will make a list of our favorite things to do, likely avoid hollywood studios ha! and just have fun together.

Two people can do it easily. I live a couple of hours north of you on I-75, and DS and I left here at 3 am Sunday morning and were checked in and having a late supper at CSR by 8 pm. Sadly, we didn't figure on Atlanta on a day where both the Braves and the Falcons were playing at home, so we spent about an hour in stop-and-go traffic.

My wife hates Atlanta, so we go straight down 65 through Birmingham and such. Much better drive! And we tend to drive straight. My car does about 400 miles on. A tank, so a tank and a half there, and a tank and a half back.

I'm still working on her ha! We shall see how it all looks, but at least with the Disney visa we get a bit of time to pay off a trip without any interest. So we can go, take a few mo the to pay it off, and book the next one.

Going for my 40th anniversary at the same time. Came here for our Honeymoon in 1979. Married 09/09/1979. Will be there 9/8 to 9/16. Split stay 2 days at Contemporary and the rest at POFQ. We have AP and use it for 2 visits. One late September when crowds are a little smaller and then one early September. This year we also went in April. Took grandson their for April vacation as his Christmas present. Think about doing the MNSSHP. Park will be all set up for Halloween.

With two driving tagging off every 4 hours, we've driven multiple times to WDW from Wisconsin straight though in 24 hours or so (with gas and meal breaks) . When we've taken a mid drive stop to visit family, we've easily covered 11 hours from the 1/2 way point.
Good test run for doing it again so you can use that AP a few times. ;-)

im hoping this trip proves how easy it is, and we will hit guest services before we leave to get an upgrade to AP ha! I figure if we leave around 4 or 5 our time, and ill drive for 4 or 5 hours, or till i need gas, then she can take over, and were at the resort and ready for dinner that night. Theres a mickeys not so scary Halloween party that Sunday, our first park day, so i might see if she wants tickets to that to experience it or not.

Just called and got a great deal with the Disney visa, and upgraded to disney coronado springs in the new tower. I figure it's our 10 year anniversary even if it's just a room, we might as well splurge!
