Problems With Online Dining

For months, I have been trying to use Disney World's online diing section to no avail... I click on Where To Eat... On the right had side, where the date and time choices are, the link to click "Search For Table" is not highlighted and does not allow me to click on it... I cannot choose the date I am looking for by clicking the calendar icon.. I can type in the date, I can select the time, and I can shoose the amount of guests... But I cannot search for a table...

On the home page, where you can choose what you are looking for (packages, hotels, dining, or tickets), if I select dining, I can choose the location, click the calendar to choose my date, select dining time and party size, but when I click "Search for Table" the next screen is blank, just remains blue (or the sky background as it appears) and no list of restaurants come up..

I use IE8.. I also tried Firefox and Chrome and same thing happens... I installed the latest edition of Flash... I installed the latest edition of Java... Nothing works... Anyone have any ideas???

OK, you seem to be within 180 days. The universal advice? When the online system fails....

Call (407) 939-3463 (WDW -DINE).

You will speak to a human with a better Dining Database Interface than you can get online, they can check for registration issues, and the human based system works. Calling also provides financial motivation for WDW to execute an online system that can actually perform the functions of a human CM.

I'll give them a call, probably tomorrow... I'm a few days away from my 180 mark.. and I was testing to see if the site worked... Hasn't worked for me since they upgraded everything last year...

Yep, that's the site... When I bring it up, the SEARCH FOR A TABLE link is grayed out and unclickable...
That is so strange. It works fine for me. The Search button is an orangish colour [I'm colour-blind, so that's a guess ] and I can select any dates and restaurants no problem. I have no idea why it would be different for you.

You've already done everything I would have suggested. The only other thought is where are you accessing from? If from work, is it possible your employer has somehow blocked the ability to submit data? If at home, the only thing I can think of would be your ISP is somehow blocking it, but I've never heard of that being done.

The button is orangish.. but the letters are grayed out and the button is unclickable... I am not trying from work... We are finally in the process of updating our systems at work.. We are still on IE6 and the Disney Dining site doesn't like IE6 too much LOL...

My issue is at home, on my home PC.. I'm going to try the laptop later on and see it works there... If so, then I know it is the settings on this computer...

Is there a head-scratching emoticon available?? LOL...
Sort of... :brick:

If it works on your laptop, I'd be interested what settings you could have changed on your PC that would cause the same problem across browsers...

Works fine with Firefox here

With IE8 I get this message from Disney:

Hmm, tried it on my laptop just now and it works... I was able to change the date to March 19 (as an example), clicked Search For A Table, and got the list.. Hmmm...

I don't know what settings I could have changed on my desktop browser.. I just looked through everything and it all seems fine to me... And all other sites work with no issues... I'm stumped...

Thanks unk.. I get that message in work with IE6... We haven't gotten the OK to upgrade to IE8 yet... That upgrade is coming with the new systems we are getting this year...

I run IE8 and Firefox 3 at home... So it definately has something to do with my settings on my computer is a different browser gives me the same issues...

Well, at least you can book your ADRs using the laptop.

The on-line system lets you in at 6AM Eastern, so an extra hour of booking if you want to be eager... :animwink:

Yep... I'm glad the browser on the laptop works fine... I'm just trying to figure out why the desktop doesn't.... I'm also having issues with iTunes on here now... So, there has to be something blocking the programs and sites from working right...
