Presenting EpCake

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a picture with everyone.

This is what I'm now calling the EpCake. Today is my 18th birthday, and I asked my Mom to make me a Spaceship Earth cake. This is what she came up with. Yes, it includes the wand, but at least this wand is tasty. :slurp: (And it will definitely be demolished by Friday, let alone October 1.) I think it turned out pretty well.

So, just a little Disney nerdiness for everyone to munch on. Have an excellent night. :)

Thanks,
wickedfanoy (aka Andrew)

Happy Birthday!!!

The cake is very creative and it was quite thoughtful of your Mom to nurture your inner "Disney-Nerd" - even if the cake does feature the dreaded wand! ;)

Happy bd.

BTW, does anyone have a picture of the orignal Epcake? Just thought it might look cool.

Voila!

(Best scan I could get given my flatbed scanner and the fact that I didn't want to break the spine of the book)

This is from Page 186 of the Imagineering book, for those who have it.

Can your mom do my birthdays?!?

The only way I get an EPCOT fix on my special day is if I scour eBay weeks before for vintage items and gift wrap them myself once they arrive...

Wicked and Tool time, did you get any Disney gifts? I recieved many Disney Dollars for our trip in Sept. My kids 2 and 3 made me cards with Mickey Ears, well Piccaso style Mickey Ears. Oh and did you know that Arnold Swar... (sp?) and Lisa Kudrow have our Birthday too!

Thanks Rob. I knew I had seen it someone before... I just didn't realize it was in a book I owned. Sorry for your unnecessary troubles.

^ Seeing that pic reminded me of one of my little cousin's birthday parties a long time ago. After seeing Cinderella Castle as a cake, he wanted a cake like that for his birthday. My aunt made one for him - it didn't look anything like Cinderella Castle, but it was still a castle which was very cool considering she isn't a culinary artist or anything.
