Maybe it could be vinyl planks? It looks like laminate but is quieter under foot.
Honesty, I am not a DYI'er. I know it's not carpet and I know it's not real hardwood floors . I would not know the difference walking on laminate or vinyl.

I believe the comment that it's carpet that looks like wood flooring was meant as... how you humans put it... a joke.
Thank You Mister Penguin, It was...
Thou after my comment, I've found there is a Danish rug maker named Ege who makes carpet that looks like outdoor elements, including wood. Side note: the house I grew up in, our game room was fitted with carpet (from the 70's) of the third picture ;) Man, I hope the 70's/ 80's rooms go with the game board carpet look... hours of fun for the kids in the room!

WDW already has hotel rooms with carpet that looks like wood flooring in Alligator Bayou at Port Orleans Riverside. Why is it so crazy to think that they might copy that concept to another hotel nearby?

That said, the photos of the Pop test rooms do appear to be neither carpet nor real wood; some sort of manufactured/composite flooring (such as laminate or vinyl) seems most likely

Any word on whether refurbished rooms are opening in Building 8 soon? Seems like that building should be done if they're on track?

A poster on another message board posted some updates about the room refurbishments. They didn't have any pictures yet, but their detailed observations (after looking into a room from about 10' outside the door) were that the room looked very much like the pictures floating around of the test/sample room. It looked like rooms 8101-8112 were complete except for needing a mattress on the queen bed -- and potentially things in the bathroom since that area wasn't visible from the door. Hopefully pictures will start appearing soon!

I'm not sure if I can link the exact thread here but it's not hard to find -- it's on a DISney message board where they are discussing Pop Century Room Renovations.
