Pop Century Room Rehab

Interesting @danlb_2000 , wonder if they're going the AOA route with multiple bedrooms? With being so close to DHS and Epcot, this location would be great for families with multiple people. Maybe its me reading into this but I just thought it was interesting that this project went almost a year without any construction... with the resort soon to be getting a gondola transportation system, connecting itself to two parks.

Perhaps it is just a major overhaul but I will keep looking through Tuesday.

Either way they have completely ripped out the rooms.

Sliding " barn door" style bathroom door and " hard wood" look laminate flooring. New head board.

Looks like just a major rehab. Sorry for jumping to conclusions.

I really hope they stay regular rooms (not suites). It can already be difficult to book Pop and the family suites are so much more expensive. We had to switch to Sports last fall when Pop was excluded from free dining. We HATED Sports and will never stay in an All Star again. I would be really disappointed if our chances at staying in Pop were greatly reduced due to the suites.

I used to choose Pop when staying in the bubble but I can't justify paying $150 (I just checked pricing, and this includes the fees they hit you with when you go to book, after showing $120 before). I guess the room refurbs will maybe justify the higher price tag but to me that's hardly a value anymore but when deluxes cost 400-500 a night I guess it would be. I just have such a hard time paying these prices anymore for a room anywhere. It's just to sleep in!! LOL

This would make a lot of sense with the gondolas serving AoA and Pop. It just seems weird that there wouldn't be an announcement so people could plan ahead.

Yep. For a company that wants you to plan 180 days plus (and personally I don't actually believe you have to; I've seen open availability at so many restaurants when I check the app and almost everything for a FP is available if you check day of ...) they aren't very transparent when it comes to a lot of things.

I love the flexibility the murphy bed provides. Often, there are only 2 of us in a room now, so this would be much more preferable for me than a 2nd bed that doesn't get used, but takes up much of the space. And, I believe that both beds are queen sized as well.

I'm awaiting photos of these new rooms as I plan my November trip. I always stay at Pop but I don't like the new room concept from the limited info available. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, meanwhile I hope Disney releases photos asap so those of us booking stays can make an informed decision!

With looking at this picture, I'm realizing why it looks so white...
- The photo is not using natural light. It's being lit from the wall fixtures and then back lights with a cool light bulb vs. a soft white or a warm light bulb.
- Natural light and white together would reflect the other colors in the room, leaving what is white looking like a shade of what is the dominate color in the room. The floor color will reflect onto the walls.
-The angel of the photo is a forced perspective too, that doesn't show the whole room and also what is in the shot is cropped oddly.

So those worried about these new rooms and color choice, I'd wait to see the photos in day light and a full shot.

Yeah, I'm just hoping the actual rooms don't match these photos... haha! I need to see some pics of the actual finished product before I fully judge whether I'd like to stay in these rooms.

Plus I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel room with laminate floors before... I'm wondering if noise levels will increase. It's already pretty loud between rooms. During my last Pop stay, the family next to me was clearly audible.
