What's it like? Is it worth spending a non park day there? Pictures look nice but I just wanted to hear from those who have seen it first hand!

Its really nice, but also a little small to spend a whole day there. We were just there Dec.'12. The kids area is great and also separate from the main pool and hot tub, so those stay a little quieter. The kids area even has a tiny pool with about an inch of water which was great for our infant that just had learned to sit up. The water slide is small, so not much excitement for the over 10 crowd. The tropical setting is one of the best of any pool area, it really makes you feel like your far away from civilization. The changing rooms are totally deluxe as well. It's about the only place I've seen high-quality marble for a changing table. So it's definitely worth checking out, but unless you really like to swim in a large sized pool for a really long time, it might not hold your attention all day. Have fun!

We spent time at both the Jambo and Kidani pools during our stay back in August and loved both. I think the Kidani slide is actually bigger, and there's a separate water play area that wasn't fully working when we were there, but looked fun. Also, you can take the shuttle over to the Jambo pool, which is bigger but has a smaller slide, if you get tired of the one at Kidani. Overall, you could definitely spend an entire day at the pools/resort areas at AKL.
