I vote for the Carousel of Progress. It's 40 years old and needs help, and it's Walt's most beloved attraction.
Though I personally feel it would do far better at Epcot somewheres in Future World, in regaurds to the Tomorrowland theory by Grizz...
As much as I had this nostalgic love for the old tomorrowland of wdw, I really do think that as much rage and hatred there is for disneyland california's 1998 tomorrowland, they will rehab it to give it it's more classic and retro tomorrowland of the 1950s and 1960s.
Now I don't mind WDW current tomorrowland. After all WDW's old tomorrowland was always very plain, and "white", compared to disneyland's very intricate old tomorrowland that many many many people want back, so i can live with the current WDW jules verne look.
But the problem with WDW's tomorrowland is that it is like only 1/4 new tomorrowland. Everything else is old tomorrowland with a slight color scheme change. So I am all for redoing the outside of the carousel of progress pavilion if it stays in tomorrowland, and redoing the tomorrowland terrace, and speedway, but I would want to save a few nostalgic tomorrowland pieces, like an untocuhed portion of the old WEDway peoplemover track near an untouched space mountain and skyway station. hey can upgrade technology wise space mountain, but please retain the classic 70s decor and feel of space mountain. WDW had the original space mountain and first fully enclosed rollercoaster that is something that is historic and nostaglic and should not be made into some paris disneyland space mountain or rockin roller coaster. As long as they can make the track smooth, etc, the decor should not drastically effect someone's experience when actually riding space mountain.
OK and back to the carousel of progress topic...if it stays in tomorrowland, for the ride itseld, we need a new theater, new theater decor, etc, new lighting, new sound, a brand new orchestral and band with chorus version of "there's a great big beautiful tomorrow", bring back the kaleidophonic screen, add some new curtains, etc.
This ride needs the beauty and grandure of an old timeless theater, and the luster it once had back in the 60s. They should redue the sets and allow them and the theater to be presented in a clockwise motion just like it used to. They need to find new narrators, similar to the original 1964 cast, 1900, 1920, 1940 will be very easy to restore back to their original world's fair decor and presentation, of course with new AA's that physical not mechanically look like the original 1964 AA's.
They need to bring back christmas 1960, the way the show orginally ended, and a sign or new narration in the pre show would help explain why the shwo ends in the 60s on purpous. I'd say make a second floor, bring back the EPCOT city model, and give us a great post show for our future, but then again this would do better at EPCOT Center/Epcot, because tomorrowland now is themed as the way tomorrow once was or never truly became, thus this is why a 1970s space mountain, and the carousel of progress ending once again in 1960 would tie in.
