Pleasure Island question...

Hello all,

My wife and I are looking at taking a little "cheap" trip to Disney during our Spring Break in April. We are looking at staying at the Pop Century Resort. I was looking at paying for the resort and tickets seperately in order to save a little money. My question is...we are probably just going to get the simple Park Hopper tickets. I know those can only be used for the parks. We were thinking about maybe going to walk around the Downtown Disney area one night just to see what's going on down there. I assume if you don't have the types of tickets that include Downtown Disney, you have to pay to get in. Anyone know how much you have to pay? Another thing, when we went last summer, we had the Ultimate Park Hopper tickets (which included the Downtown Disney area). The thing is when we went down there at night, there wasn't anyone stopping us to check our tickets. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks in advance!!!

Just for clarification's sake... when you say Downtown Disney, do you mean the entire area or just Pleasure Island. Disney WestSide and Disney Marketplace require no admission. Pleasure Island requires a fee, but it feels more like a cover fee then an admission fee (it's not very expensive). I think it's only like 20 dollars.

I am referring to the area that contains Disney Quest, AMC, and the other little shops. Sorry about not being clear in my original post. :D

It depends on which parts you are interested in. Pleasure Island has an admission fee of around $20. The rest of Downtown is free :)

edit- Did I really take that long to type this? 2 responses in the meantime

You are referring to WestSide (the area with HoB, Cirque de Soleil, Disneyquest and AMC), which as Erika said... is free.

Yup, that's West Side, which is free. However, there is a charge for DisneyQuest, which the last time I went was $5. Well worth it.

Um, $5 for DisneyQuest, what the? When did you go? What time of day? DisneyQuest is about $30.

Anyway the Downtown Disney area is free to experience, it is an eating, dining, shopping area.

Pleasure Island is a collection of 8 clubs and you have to pay about $22 to get into the Island and then you are welcome to go into all of the clubs. I love PI.

Disney's West Side does not require an admission fee. However the following attractions do.

Pleasure Island: $21.25

DisneyQuest: $33.02 (adult) $26.63 (child)

Cirque du Soleill:
Category 1 tickets: $87.33 (Adults); $52.19 (Ages 3-9)
Category 2 tickets: $76.68 (Adults); $46.86 (Ages 3-9)

All prices include tax. There is no fee to visit the Cirque du Soleill & DisneyQuest merchandise shops.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that if you have The Ultimate Park Hoppers pass, you can get into Disney Quest for Free.

My wife and I were there last October and they didn't charge us.

A GREAT way to save money is going to eat at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness Campground! It is all you can eat and very very inexpensive! It's by far the best thing my boyfriend and I (who were on a budget) found the whole trip last may!

Also, watching the fireworks from the poly was really free and so romantic!

That is correct. The Ultimate Park Hoppers are length of stay tickets and can get you into all 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, Wide World of Sports, PI, and DisneyQuest.

Park Hopper Plus passes give you the option of choosing between PI, WWoS, BB, and TL.

Park Hoppers have no choices with them.

Trail's End is great. Just ate there for lunch yesterday. With tax, it was still less than $11. Some of the best fried chicken on property.

It's fairly quiet, especially at lunch. At night it can get crowded depending on season and Hoop De Doo performances.

Is it really cheaper to get your park hopper passes once you get to the resort, rather than buying them right away? We are staying at BW Villas with points on our Vacation Club thing. (well, it's my parents)

My mother said to wait until we get to BW and then buy our Park Hopper passes because it is cheaper instead of getting them online or on the phone ahead of time.

Can anyone verify? :veryconfu

Nope. It's no cheaper buying them once you've arrived. I even think it's cheaper to buy them before hand, either from the website or a Disney store, but I might be mistaken.

Eh. Foggy memory. Happens when you get old. Whippersnapper. Also, I have an annual pass, so maybe I saved $5 or something. What were we talking about again? :animwink:

I think members of the vacation club (condo, points, whatever it is) get a 10% discount when they arrive at check in. Any other vacation members verify or is my mother crazy? (Sorry Mom)

You might want to check with Kingdom Konsultant. She was able to get me PI tickets for $15 each. We only went to Adventurer's Club, but I felt it was well worth it. If you have the interest/stamina to go to the other clubs, it's a bargain.

It's easier to keep them and have a receipt than go through the hassle if they don't work when you get to the park.

Having a receipt will make it easier to verify when purchased and that no dates have been used.
