Pleasure Island Extends Un-gated Operation 8/15

In an on-going effort to enhance the experience at Pleasure Island, we are continuing to adjust the way we ticket, provide entertainment, and allow access to the venue.

Beginning August 15, we will test a new ticket price of $16.95 for access to all clubs on Pleasure Island. Guests with multi-day tickets that include admission to Pleasure Island will be able to gain access to all clubs.

During this trial phase, Downtown Disney guests will continue to be able to travel through Pleasure Island from the West Side and Marketplace and enjoy the street festival atmosphere of the island.

Are there any CM's who can give us an idea of the response from guests this experiment has been getting?

I am all for lower prices to PI but lets hope it doesnt mean lots of young children in an adult entertainment venue.

I was at PI during Easter and it needed something to give attendance a boost. So the girl selling jello shots has to check an ID? Guess what, when there are no people in the streets, the jello shot girl doesn't get scheduled to work at all. She wasn't there on my last visit.

This news doesn't bother me in the least. So 15-17 year olds are going to hang out in the streets along with the 18 and up crowd and listen to the band on the main stage? That's better than not having a band because there weren't enough people paying a cover charge to provide an audience.

I mean, come on! WDW at Easter was PACKED - all the resorts were at capacity, and PI was empty! Having more people walking around, spending money in the gift shops will help keep those shops open and keep PI viable.

Is this for a limited trial run, or more permanent? Will be there late Sept and wondering if this lower price will still be in effect? Thanks Turkey!

I can understand trying to get more people in, but I liked PI better when less kids were around.

The problem isn't having more people around, the problem is having children in the bars. That, and the inconvenience of showing ID at each club instead of the main entrance. It severly limits moving from bar to bar, which was always one of the joys of PI.
