Fantastic Plastics, sponsored by the Society of Plastic Engineers, has opened at Innovetions. It is in section 8, on the East side.

Also, painting of The Odessy is coming along, and it no longer looks run-down, which is nice.

Innoventions was closed....I got to Epcot at about 7:05, but I snuck in while they were cleaning.

There appears to be a large interactive game in one area, and exhibits in another area. It also looks like only 2/3's is open.

I REALLY wish they would turn The Odessy back into a counter service restaurant again.

It was a great place to go for a quick lunch before heading to World Showcase.

Dunno if this just me but i thought the sign to the Odyessy when lit up was purple. Did they change it or am I just not thinking straight? The plastics Exhibit sounds cool. Ill have to check it out when i go back.

You think WDW has any thoughts of opening Odessy again or are they just gonna keep it for private use?

I don't know if there is really any demand for it to be open. It does need the painting that is going on now, it looked so bad.

It will depend on what happens with The Land....if the food court there is dramatically reduced in size due to the reconfgurations going on with Soarin, another eatery may be needed. Keep in mind though, there is still a closed eatery in the West side of Innovetions.

It will most likely depend on how Soarin influences attendance. If Epcot is able to see admission numbers like those in the late 80's and early 90's, the odds of Odyssey reopening would proabably be greater.

"so you're saying there's a chance" LOL (Dumb & Dumber) Well, I hope the attendance will increase. I can remember when I was little the parks were packed, it would drive me nuts and now the crowd size is tolerable.

Gas man. How the hell did they know that I got gas?

The park was pretty empty yesterday, but this is a slow weekend for travel in Orlando. I have mixed feelings about attendance increases. I love to see the parks do well, and the increase in tourism sure helps me from a professional standpoint.....but I really don't like waiting in lines! :)

"Slippy, Slappy, Slammy, Swanson, Swanson? Samsonite, I was way off"

I love the short lines. We would vacation in August every year when I was little. Then we started going in the fall/winter months and it's great. Although the line for Peter Pan was crazy back in Feb. LOL Fast Pass!!!

You know what really chaps my a$$ though? I spent my life savings turning my van into a dog. The alarm alone cost me two hundred.

The line for Peter Pan will always be long so it seems. I had not been on any of the FL dark rides for probably 10 years until last weekend.....the lines are always crazy. Last weekend I finally went on the Pooh dark ride, it was during Spectro and the line was only 15 minutes.....first time ever....I thought it was fantastic. :D

What I found to do is go when the park is open late, and after the night time shows, almost all the kids are gone. I was able to ride Peterpan, Pooh, and Snow White in 15 minutes.

And the CastMembers found it very funny....

Lloyd Christmas : Excuse me, Flo, what's the soup du jour?
Waitress: It's The Soup of the Day.
Lloyd Christmas : Mmmm... that sounds good; I'll have that.

I took some better pictures of The Odyssey today.....you should be able to better make out where the painting has already occured.

Here are some pics of the Plastics area. It looks like one section is not complete yet, as there is still a curtain around it.

The original press release I read from SPI said they would have an actual injection mold machine set up and would create souvenirs for kids to take with them. So I guess that's what's behind the curtain... maybe?

I could not really tell what was behind the curtain, but I would assume something like that......the other areas are both interactive things....a touch screen game and an active participant game.....another game may be overkill.
