For those in the know about permitting: Does the valuation section mean how much the installation costs? Is this number inflated for insurance purposes or something? I'm asking because I'm having a hard time understanding how a TEMPORARY illuminated wall sign at Space Mountain can possibly cost $25,000. $25000. For a sign. A SIGN!

What am I missing here?

The valuation is a best guess for design, labor, materials, incidental costs--even the permit itself, which costs money. Disney itself is often doing the work and their cost controls aren't the best.

That actually doesn’t sound out of whack for the quality and size of sign Disney will be buying. A sign in front of a business on a plaza is many thousands of dollars. This is several times larger.

I read it like that at first as well. But its 22,000 for the sign and 5 million for the 702 ft of retaining walls.

Retaining walls have quite the price tags as there was a permit in Dec 2021 for 8 million.

I'm not completely sure, but just from driving by I can see that the construction fence in the entrance driveway has returned. It could be that they are working on the driveway to/from the underground parking garage (but then shade structures wouldn't make a lot of sense).
I'm told by my Bothan Spies that the walkway goes up the south side of the GCH DVC building opposite Goofy's Flying School. It breaks through the fence behind Corn Dog Castle where I presume all the construction you can see is for the actual entrance gate, which opens up between Corn Dogs and Seaside Souvenirs.

I'm betting they will limit entrance to Hotel Guests, but I wonder if they will allow other guests to exit only. I haven't had any problem exiting at the GCH entry.
