Parking at Downtown Disney-quick questions

Happy New Year! We are planning a May 2015 trip and I can't tell if you have to pay now to park at Downtown Disney? And where do you park since it's so crowded all the time?

It's still free. One garage is open now and their using the cast parking lot that's behind the Hess gas station that's across the street from downtown Disney. That's where I parked last month and I even had a trailer.

How will parking at Disney Springs work?
There will be two multi-level parking structures built, one on the Marketplace side, and one of the West Side. This will give a total parking space of around 6000 spaces. There will be no charge for parking.

Ideally avoid weekends, and later in the day.

Parking is currently on 4 levels of the parking garage, behind Cirque du Soleil, and across the street at Team Disney and Casting Center. There are signs and cast members directing.

All DTD parking is free.

It's usually a good idea to get there close to store(s) opening time as the lots do fill up rather quickly and traffic is a nightmare.
