Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Rise of the Guardians all involve a character name Jack diving in the water to save a female. Fun movie trivia fact for y'all.

Yes
If they dropped the stupid save Jack Jack storyline and just had it be the Incredicoaster without the embarrassing World of Disney statues I think this overlay would’ve been a lot more successful. The improved lighting and effects are good enough.

So, I got to the park around 10:30, bought the new Tiki Room POP and managed to get into Disneyland around 12. After doing Mr. Lincoln, I thought I’d go on Pirates or Haunted...but no...both closed. So I went to the Tiki Room (55th Anniversary was today). Got out and checked Pirates. Still down. Went to try and ride Buzz...and IT was closed! So I finally decided to grab a pretzel. That’s when I looked at the wait board and Peter Pan was closed too...

Conspiracy Theory....with 4 attractions down, it’s almost Disney was trying to subtly usher guests next door...hmmmm...

I left at 1:30 because I just didn’t feel like waiting around for the attractions to re-open.

The sad part is:

At DCA half of the people rushing in were rushing in for RSR. Not the pier.

Hahah I thought my the same thing when they “decided” to sell the POPs today. I didn’t realize that TODAY was actually Tiki rooms 55th anniversary. I feel like an idiot. I got to the park at 9am. Waited about an hour and a half to buy it and when I walked back into Disneyana at 4pm they still had a ton of them. Anyway, it was nice being at the park so early. I’m rarely there before 1pm. The park is nice and “empty” at that time and it sets up your day with the right tone. Getting to the parks at 2pm sucks.

I also ran into all those rides being down. I had Mansion FPs that we ended up using on IASW instead. Also kept checking for POTC to come back up and it finally did around 2:30pm or so. Rode it and finally experienced the new auction scene for myself. It’s actually not as bad in person since you have so much other stimuli fighting for your attention. Don’t get me wrong. I still hate it but it’s not as bad as when your focused on a YouTube video on your bedroom.

Space Mountain also went down when I was trying to use Single Rider for the first time. Went back a few hours later and I got on in like 60 seconds. I take everything back about hating single rider (because it moved the child switch line to the FP line). It was awkward sitting next to a stranger though. Especially with a party of 5. I’m sure they enjoyed having me in their picture. Those seats are really close together on Space. Maybe on other rides it’s not as awkward?

Anyway it was a blissful day at DL. Ride wait times were a little less than usual (although Jungle Cruise was a walk on around 6pm) but the biggest thing was just the crowds felt much lighter when walking around.

I didn’t even go to DCA. But when I left the park at 7:30 pm there was no line At the gate.

Ouch! :D

Knott's has been burning Disneyland in their ads for decades. This one from 1977 appeared on the back of Vacationland magazine, which, ironically, was published by Disney.

Believe it or not, back in 1980. Disneyland and Knott's made birthday ads to each other and is very heartwarming.

You don't see Disney or any other rival theme park doing stuff like that anymore.

However, during Disneyland Paris's 20th Anniversary in 2012. The characters from the popular French comic book series Asterix. Bought a menhir (one of Obelix's rocks in the Asterix comics) as a gift to the park. Parc Asterix is also miles away from Disneyland Paris.
