Trip Report Our "It's 'Disney' real" June 2016 trip

We're back!!:(:( We had a fantastic time with some not so fantastic moments thrown in, but what trip doesn't have those!

For those of you that haven't read my pre-trip report, here is a quick synopsis:
Who: Me (Amy), my husband Brian, and our kids Logan (13), Lily (11), and Owen (8)
What: 10 day trip with free dining
When: June 2-11, 2016
Where: Caribbean Beach resort

Unfortunately, our flight was set to leave from Columbus at 5:30am. We live in Dayton, which is a little over an hour away from Columbus, so my goal was to leave our house by 3am on Thursday, June 2. We made it!!

Everyone was very excited!

We made it to the airport before the security check even opened! By the time we got our bags checked in to Southwest, we only had to wait a few minutes to get through security.
We were in early boarding group A, so we were on the plane in no time! Still excited!

We got to see the sun coming up once we were in the air.

They all wanted to do the zipline, but Logan was too tall.:(

Then it was lunch time!
We didn't have much choice of where to eat, because everything was closed except the Lottawatta Lodge! That's ok, we enjoyed what we had. Logan, Owen, Brian, and I split two pepperoni flatbreads and Lily had chicken.

Lily had a cookie for dessert and the rest of us had s'mores bites. They were warm and sooooooo yummy!!!

After we ate, we decided to head back to CBR.

I am not a big fan of water parks and water slides, but I really enjoyed our time at Blizzard Beach!

How did I miss the topiaries!? :arghh: I love seeing them at F&G!

I remember the Duffy thing from when I was a kid, but at that time Duffy was a strange looking mask on a stick instead lol. I had so much fun getting stamped in each country.. My (at the time) teenage brothers, however, were not quite as amused.

Dying at the soaps! There are so many people in my family who those would be the perfect gift for! I must buy some next trip!

I'm not big on water parks either and always debate about going to one of Disney's on my trips. You look like you had a lot of fun and are making me want to go! Not to mention that yummy looking lunch and dessert. :hungry:

Since we finished early, we decided to go ahead and take the bus back. There was a bus waiting as we exited the park, and luckily, there was a CBR bus waiting as we pulled in to AK. It worked out well for us, but I could see this turning into a disaster for some!

Back at CBR, we all showered and rested. We opened the door to head to DHS, and were greeted with a wall of rain! We decided we would wait a little longer since we had previously canceled our dinner reservation. We finally left the room at about 5:00.

Our first FP+ was for Star Tours.

After, we decided to have dinner.

Lily got chicken and waffles, and the rest of us got chili dogs. I thought they were supposed to have cheese on them, but whatever!!

The lemon BB8 cupcakes weren't very lemon-y!!

They were all still getting along!!

The topiaries slowly disappeared as the week went on I think! Some were not there when we went Monday, but all seemed to be gone by the time we went back on Saturday.

Yeah, Logan was not thrilled with the Duffy stamps!!

You should try the water parks at least once! I'm sure we'll be back at some point to both of them!

We caught the tail end of the last Star Wars show of the day. Owen was excited to see Boba Fett!

Then we headed to our next FP+, Toy Story.

We saw some Storm Troopers and followed them to see what they were up to. They were just kind of harassing guests!

It is my favorite movie as well, but I have to say...you didn't miss much at all :bored: it was over far too quickly for me! I've never ridden TSMM, and with that one it does seem like I am missing a lot!
We've seen it lots of times, so I definitely didn't feel like I was missing out on anything! I really wish they would update the show! TSMM is fun, but mostly because we can ride it as a whole family! I certainly wouldn't be heartbroken if I were to go to DHS and not get to ride it!

It would have been a perfect night for Star Wars fireworks! Too bad Disney decided to cut them back to three nights a week right before our trip started! Unfortunately, because we had everything planned out 6 months before the trip as Disney wants, we were unable to rearrange our schedule to get to see them. Yes, I'm a little bitter about that!!

I believe we waited forever for a bus again!!
A few pics back at CBR while going to get drinks before retiring for the night:
