There are no dates for any of the Christmas Special Events on Disneys web site (yet)

Maybe they wil have a "Soft Opening" before the official opening date.

It usually opens the same time as the chirstmas parties.. but not 100% sure. Plus the chirstmas season is still far away . I mean walmarts not putting up those decorations just quite yet....

MVMCP starts on Nov 10,2008 and The Osbourne Lights are up at the same time.
Holiday around the world starts on Nov 28.

How long do they keep them up for? We'll be down Jan 4th-10th.

They were on until Jan 6th last year. They still had a lot of the decorations up until the 9th or 10th as well. However the osborne lights as well as the castle weren't lit after the 6th

They will most likely be on much earlier than that. The only park that seems to hold back and start it's holiday celebration on the Friday after Thanksgiving is Epcot. The rest start celebrating the second week of November.

They should be starting the installation of the lights in a few weeks. It only takes about 4 months to put them up.:brick:

As a moderator at Intercot, I can tell you that all the info we post is straight from Disney. That doesn't mean the info won't change, just that the November 28 date is what Disney has given us for now. It does seem odd, however, as it's started much earlier the few years and MVMCP starts on Nov 10.

If it is the 28th I'm sure folks will be able to enjoy the lights before...as they slowly put them up.
