Operational change at Expedition Everest

Take two groups from the odds line, then take (roughly) the same number of people from the evens line. Rinse and repeate.

I expect based on how they do this on other coasters they will just alternate one even train, one odd train.

While it stinks for us singles, EE has been the exception rather then the rule, not only does GotG do this but so does Slinky, and SDMT. Disney knows how to run coasters this way.

That’s where Disney parks get a bit odd. For “regulars” - operational efficiency is the win.

But if a family of 5 from Denver (wink wink) is visiting one time and only riding once - you kinda wish they could get their own vehicle and experience it as a family.

I even feel awkward being seated in front or behind a parent and kid on the fantasyland dark rides.

On Everest it isn't too awkward to be a single rider, because the person next to you is also either a single rider or has the rest of their group directly in front or behind you.

Rides with a singular vehicle instead of a train where you could be potentially the only person not part of a group, yes that can be a little awkward.

Especially when many people arrive to Orlando by plane where you often have to sit uncomfortably close to strangers for hours at a time!

One interesting thing to consider with running an even/odd configuration is that Disney does not like to sit small parties in a way in which they will not all be in the same photo.

On Guardians, for example, if you have a party of 3 or 4, standard operating procedure is for the Cast Member to put you in the same car. They will not separate you into rows 2 and 3, 4 and 5, or 6 and 7 without asking.

This is not an issue to worry about on Slinky or TRON, where the photo is per row, and not per car.

Also removes the issue of groups in the single rider line holding up the line when the grouper splits up their group (despite the fact that the single rider line clearly states that groups will be seperated).

I actually enjoy riding w strangers, especially the few times you get someone on their first ride - magical.

Oh it definitely happens a couple times a day, but that still gives you an only a small chance at witnessing it as a guest.

Yes, they do have a history of doing that, but this isn’t one of those situations. This really is a process that is more efficient.

It runs the non-single rider lines more quickly because they're pulling from single rider less frequently to fill gaps.
