Downtown Disney -- Will operate with some limited offerings; bus transportation will not be provided until late afternoon. Cirque du Soleil will offer its regularly scheduled performances.

For visiting our Walt Disney World parks today, Guests should be encouraged to drive their own vehicles. As a reminder, there is no fee for parking as a Walt Disney World Resort Guest by showing their resort parking pass.

Wouldn't make sense to keep as many vehicles off the road as possible?
A couple of reasons why that I can think of:
1) Low number of drivers
2) The bus could tip over if enough wind and people inside shimmy to one side. (This has happen to one of the public buses where I live)
3) Debris could cause trouble for a bus to drive around then a car.

My mother suggested that perhaps they are having trouble with their fueling depot. Maybe they have no power or damage there or something.

I'm thinking the same thing Tigsmom. Many employees have a mess to clean up and need the time off to assess the damage. Also, if many are without electricity, it complicates matters. I've been fortunate to have always been restored first because of the fire station across the street and my boy's school behind that, and I'm right by the US Hwy. However, I've seen many go without power for three to five days.
The employees needing the extra time off probably wish they could go to work at a time like this.

To those guests with no cars, I suggest befriending another guest and start WDW Carpools

Has anyone heard from Kevin, Grizz or the rest of the ORL peeps?
