One night stay over at a Disney Hotel

Hi guys,

would any of you stay at Disney just for one night? or have any of you stayed over for just one night?
I'm going to Orlando (First Time) in October and will be staying offsite , i keep looking at the the Pop Century and Art of Animation Hotel, they look amazing :). I wouldn't mind satying in one of them just for the extra Disney experience but then i think is it really worth it? I couldn't afford to do more than one night really but it just looks like alot of fun. Maybe i should just stick to visiting them for a mooch round?
Any thoughts on this?

Thanks :)

I think it would be hard to stay for only one night, I don't just mean "emotionally." I mean, it's a trek from the lobby to the your room at Pop (not sure about AoA, but I think that's pretty spread out too). I think it would be frustrating to deal with moving in and out that quick. Plus, I'm not sure you'd accomplish much with one day at that hotel. The bus rides are long to the parks and tend to be a little crowded.

If it were a hotel within walking distance of a park(i.e., Boardwalk or Contemp), then I'd say it might be worth a 1-night stay for the convenience and "submerging" factor. But, while those hotels have great theming, they aren't "submerged" enough IMHO to make it worth it for a 1-night versus just staying at one of the DTD hotels or another off-property for the entirety of the trip.

What is your price difference for rooms?

I think room switching just takes away from vacation time, so I wouldn't do it for one day.

If you're staying multiple days at Disney remember you save on daily parking and gas since you can use the bus. Then again the off site hotel probably has a free shuttle, but Disney's run non stop every 20 minutes.

I've done it before. We live 3.5 hours away, so we've done the getting up at 5:00am, drive up and get to the hotel by 8:30 and hop on a bus to the park. The hotels are fun. I don't hang around them much, we spend most of our time in the parks. The buses are going to be crowded in the early morning and at night when the parks for close. throughout the day they aren't too bad.

You can. You will need to show ID at the gate. If you park at POP Century, you can explore that resort and then take a walk over Generation Gap bridge and explore Art of Animation (or vice versa). Easy!
