This past Friday (8/11), I was so bummed over the fact that I got sick this past May and wasn't able to really enjoy Disney while we were there. I was especially sad that GMR was closing. Told my hubby this and he knew for years that I wanted to do a solo trip to Disney (was a bucket list dream of mine ever since I was a little kid). Well, he seriously surprised me! Booked a one night stay for Saturday (8/12) at the All Stars along with a one day park hopper pass.
Guys, I got up Saturday morning at 4 am and drove about 7 hours straight to Florida. I was so nervous, but I did it. Got to the All Stars at about lunch time, checked in, grabbed a lunch, and then headed over to HS. The wait for GMR was 70 minutes long!!
I even had the privilege of meeting a very sweet lady who was also riding GMR solo because she wanted to see it for the last time as well. We reminisced about the ride and the parks in their heyday. She became my ride buddy (we even took selfies).I got to see the Cowboy scene, which I haven't seen since I was really little. So awesome!! And I got myself a GMR "That's a Wrap" souvenir tervis.
After that, I decided once was enough (and I seriously didn't want to use up another 70+ minutes because I had only a few more hours to use up a one day park hopper pass). I headed over to Epcot and had lunch at The Land. (Just a side note: I have never seen a long wait for Living with the Land, not since I was a kid anyways. It was 30 minutes long! But no, I didn't ride it.)
After finishing lunch, I decided to ride SSE, and then grabbed a coffee afterwards and hopped on the monorail to Magic Kingdom.
Got to the Magic Kingdom and it started pouring rain. Well, I seriously didn't care about getting soaked because gosh darn it this was my day to enjoy Disney! Well, because of the helpful rain, I walked through the middle of Main Street with hardly anyone blocking my path.
My first stop was the Tiki Room, and then Haunted Mansion, which unfortunately the person in the doom buggy next to me decided to use flash the entire time on her phone
After that, I was getting very hungry so I went to Gaston's Tavern. (By the way, try the ham and cheese stuffed pretzel. That thing is delicious!)
After that (and another coffee), I headed over to Space Mountain. I made sure to get a fast pass for it. I was going to do the People Mover next, but the ride kept breaking down...and there was a long line for it as well. Oh well, next time!
I finished off my night at Magic Kingdom with Pirates of the Caribbean, and then left during the fireworks to head to Disney Springs.
Lastly, I grabbed a couple of bags of Character gummies from the World of Disney and then grabbed a couple of gifts from the Lego shop for my hubs, and then headed back to the hotel.
I did it!
