Wow.

What a band, like seriously. Danny Elfman was the lead singer for Oingo Boingo and the style of the songs just show his insanity. On the east coast, Oingo Boingo is not really known, but I know they have a west coast prevalence.

This is the album "Only a Lad", their debut album and it really shows the unique style of the band. They actually maintained their sound pretty well and from a composition standpoint their music can be simple to pretty complex with lots of key changes. Danny Elfman seems to really enjoy key changes though, because some songs in the Nightmare Before Christmas modulate many times.

Just wanted to post this band because I think of all the songs of this band almost as if Jack Skellington went on tour.

They had a smaller following in the Northeast...I managed record stores in the mid 80's, and they were a part of that (for lack of a better term) post punk, ska, pop vibe. I always loved them in "Back to School"!
