Notable Cast Member Moment?

I was just wondering if anyone has had any memorable moment involving a cast member. I know for me I was waiting in line for Star Tours and the cast member noticed I was wearing a Doctor Who shirt. She was from the UK and when I was at the front of the line with my group she proceeded to say the line from TV along the lines of "coming up next, Doctor Who," and I forget the rest. Regardless, it was a pretty cool moment, and of course going to the UK section of the World Showcase is always fun with a DW shirt.

So yeah, any other cast member moments out there?

I've got two. First, I was on a solo trip, and shopping in the UK pavilion. DD was leaving the following month for a semester of study abroad in Belfast, N. Ireland. I was buying soccer jerseys for her for Christmas, and the CM & I started talking about DD and her upcoming trip. I had my purchases delivered back to my resort, and when I opened the bag the next day, there was the nicest handwritten note from that CM telling me how much he enjoyed our chat, and wishing DD good luck in her studies. I was so impressed that he took the time to write, and it really added to my trip.

The 2nd time was when I had taken my great-niece and nephew on their first ever trip. We were doing pin trading and getting autographs, of course. I stressed that they were not to just shove their autograph book into the characters' face, but they were to ask nicely. So when my niece(9) met Alice, she very politley asked if Alice would please sign her book. Alice replied back that she had such nice manners, and did Mary Poppins teach her to be so polite. It was just so neat and made Hannah feel really special. Oh, at the same time we had some fun with the Queen of Hearts showing off her underwear. We all got a big chuckle from that.

Hold on here, I demand an investigation. All three involve UK CMs. I think this is rigged.
And "The Mighty Tim" what the heck is that avatar? Looks like a Rhino to me.

I have two memorable experiences, both involved bus drivers.

In the first we were riding the bus to DTD and the ride was incredibly rough. Every time the bus would start or stop, it would jerk around. The hubs made a joke that it was like riding on Test Track. When the bus pulled into the bus stop, the bus driver stood up, turned around with a stern look on his face and said, "OK, who made the comment about Test Track?" I turned to the hubbs and said, "Uh oh! You're in trouble now." as I pointed to him in a "he did it" sort of way. The bus driver's face turned into a smile as the hubbs promised never to say anything like that again and begged to be let on the bus for the ride home. Who said that bus drivers don't have a sense of humor.

The second experience was from the same trip a few days later. We were waiting for the bus to Epcot on our last day. As the bus approached, the hubbs (ever the trouble maker) stepped out into the road to take a photo of the approaching bus. When he did that, the bus driver suddenly started waving at him frantically as he brought the bus to a stop. I yelled at the hubbs to get out of the road and saw the bus driver getting up out of his seat to leave the bus. "Now you've done it", I thought to myself, but I bit my tongue. Then the bus driver stepped out of the bus and I realized that this was no ordinary bus driver, but rather our favorite bus driver and our good friend. Of all of the busses in all of WDW, we ended up riding on his bus to Epcot and we had him all to ourselves!

You didn't mention if those bus drivers were Brits?
My gripe with most bus drivers is that they don't seem to know how the gas pedal works, drives me crazy.

Wearing a Red Sox hat in the parks I have met many former New Englander cast members including one who had lived 2 streets from where we now live. I was also told "excuse me sir there';s a "Bee" on your hat" by one cast member. I jumped and then realized I had been had. The Mayor of Mainstreet told my son who was also wearing his Red Sox hat to study harder next time and he would get and "A".

How did I not know that?

riding in a bus (with a Brit driver) they are driving is like Mr Toad's Wild Ride. Other side of the road my foot!

There are British WDW bus drivers and after a couple of years they figure out what side of the road to drive on.

I don't think I've ever noticed a difference. Then again, I'm a veteran of normal bus journeys here in the UK anyway!

The bus scene in Harry Potter comes to mind.

To be fair, people need to cut the WDW bus drivers a little, just a little, slack regarding the herky jerky ride on some buses. Two of the three bus models have severe brake retarders. The worst is the Nova bus model, if you take your foot of the gas to coast, it feels as if the brakes were applied. Even the brake light comes on which can drive someone following crazy, not to mention the bad herky jerky ride. Some drivers are really bad at managing this feature. Other drivers anticipate the braking action and are able to give a reasonably good ride, but it takes extra effort.
Now see, you didn't know that, did you?

I love to pick on people wearing Red Sox caps, they deserve it.
I eventually tell them I wear one too.

I almost gave him a tip.

Almost tipped him, ya, nice try.
Everyone knows that CMs are not supposed to accept tips without going through a big song and dance, so of course people then say, I would tip you, but I know you can't accept it.
But, if you accidentally dropped it on the floor in front of him and pointed it out to him that someone dropped a $20 bill, that is what you were going to tip him, wasn't it, then he'd have to pick it up.

While waiting for the Spectromagic Parade a CM grabbed my DD and asked her if she would like to light the castle lights. She told DD to cup her hands and blow when she gave her the signal. When she said blow my DD blew and all the lights on the castle lit up as the parade started. DD couldn't believe she did it. Wish I would have told CM how awesome she was but I was so lost in the moment that when I thought to say something she was gone.

I forgot to mention this one, also from my last trip.

We're at the loading station for Nemo. We just boarded the Clammobile and heading into the ride. The CM at the end of the moving walkway says to us and the Clammobile next to us "make sure you've buckled your seatbelts!". Since it was my first time ever on this ride, I went to buckle my imaginary seatbelt, realised my error, but fortunately made the realisation before the CM noticed. He did notice the people in the next Clammobile reaching for their imaginary seatbelt, chuckled at them and said "haha! Got ya!" as we entered the ride proper.

**A Note on memorable CM moments**

If ever you have a particularly special CM interaction, let the mgr of the location (or coordinator) know! CMs get recognized for going "above and beyond" and it helps them if ever they want to get transferred or promoted! If you can't find a manager or coordinator at the particular location. Take note of the CMs name and hometown and head to Guest Relations and let them know. They'll make sure the remarks get back to the correct person. You can also go to your resort front desk and ask for one of the managers. They can send the e-mail off to the correct person as well!

Help recognize those CMs that do an outstanding job to make your stay extra magical!! =) =)

My fiance proposed to me infront of Cinderelle Castle September 2nd of this year. A manager for guest relations just happened to be walking by and started freaking out and taking pictures with her cell phone. She was so happy to witness it. She told us to stop by City Hall on our way out of the parks that day and ask for her. We went on about our business taking pictures and riding a few rides but did not stay to long because we wanted to go over to EPCOT. We stopped by City Hall and she had embroidered bride and groom Mickey ears with our names on them and a Bride and Groom Mickey and Minnie photo frame for us. She took pictures of us in our ears and wished us the best of luck. It was so sweet. No only did she give us an amazing gift but her reaction to his proposal was so cute. I am sure WDW sees tons of proposals all the time but ours was truely special to her.

We we got home we did send an email thanking her for all she did. She made an amazing day all that more amazing.

On a side note we went back to Magic Kingdom later that evening for EMH and my fiance maxed out the score on Buzz. The cast member there gave him a button for maxing out the score. I am not sure what he was more proud of his engagement button or his Buzz Lightyear high score button. He has them both proudly displayed together at home.
