"North Pole Adventure
A dark ride about Christmas? No, not exactly.

This colorful, lyrical dark ride proposed to be placed in Disney's Blizzard Beach by 2006 takes visitors on a magical journey to where Santa Claus and his helpers are preparing for Christmas.

The North Pole Adventure would utilize the same ride, game and target-shooting concept that has proven so successful in Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, but with a twist. Instead of shooting at the bad guys, visitors are invited to help two children --- Snowflake Sally and Winter Willie ---and their dog, Weezer, find the North Pole and Santa's workshop.

This cartoon-style ride would be geared towards younger children but would provide equal enjoyment for their parents and older siblings. The targets in North Pole Adventure would all be attached to inanimate objects, such as tree trunks, a toy chest, a lamp and an ice floe. The magic pistols shoot with a musical arpeggio, not a gunshot sound. Hitting a target either helps you find the way to Santa or reveals special gold-wrapped Christmas presents which give you bonus points.

Planned are many interactive animals throughout the 13 concepted scenes of the ride . . . bears, rabbits, raccoons, penguins, owls and walruses. They pop out from behind trees, logs and ice formations, holding signs, point north, saying: "Thatta way!" and wishing you Merry Christmas.

Animatronics bring Santa Claus to life in this adventure game. As in Space Ranger Spin, each ride car is equipped with a scoring console, making the ride a game, which encourages repeat ridership.

This interactive magical adventure isn't just for children, but when seen and experienced through a child's eyes it makes Santa's smiles even brighter."

I don't know what to think of this... I find it doubtful that DIsney would put a darkride in a waterpark, but it does seem to be something Disney would try. What do you guys think?

Sounds like Disney may be putting the currently unused Buzz Lightyear attraction from DisneyQuest Chicago in Blizzard Beach.....i know its not the same thing as "space ranger spin", but since Disney has extra stuff from the closing of DQ Chicago, im sure they wanna put em to use.....lets see what happens

(Am I the only one not seeing any targets here? Maybe it would be like Men In Black at US... Lord, I hope not)

I don't know if Disney would do that since it deals with religion...you know? and I really don't think Blizzard Beach's theme is Christmas...

North Pole Adventure

I swear, everytime I get a good idea, Disney seems to have it too! LOL!

I had an idea for a "North Pole Adventure" a few years ago, but my vision was slightly larger then what Disney seems to have dreamed up here.

My idea, was sort of a "Polar Express" sort of a thing (If you've ever read the book) in which the guests board a train and travel north, to the North Pole and Santa's Workshop. But that's just the beginning. After exiting the Express, the guests would find themselves boarding another vehical, which would take the guests on a "Bobsled" ride through the artic snowlands. Thrilling stuff. Once at the Santa Clause City, guests would get a tour and visit inside the GIANT workshop, to find hundreds of singing elves working away on toys (all auto-anmatronic of course, kind of like "Small World") all while sitting in the comfort of the transport.

The grand finale would be the meeting with Santa Clause and then joining him in his slege and flying over the cities of the world, distrubting presents to all the houses (kind of like in Peter Pan's flight).

I would place this in Fantasyland and open it for all of Nov and Dec. of every year. I know, it would probably be the biggest, longest, most unpratical and most expense Dark Ride ever, but hey, who cares, it would be great! Disney will never do it though, they would lose money, most likely. Oh well, that's my vision though.

I think its doubtful, because of what DisneyExpert mentioned earlier. You would be soaking wet!!! also, going on a Christmas ride in the middle of the summer would seem a bit strange :-s.

I dont think disney would "clone" another attraction and just dress it up. Its like putting BTM in, but just add snow, and turn the carriages into santas sleigh!

Santa Claus

I don't know, it sounds like a good idea, but what does Santa really have to do with Disney?I could see another park putting that ride in, but not Disney, Santa Claus just doesn't match the park, unless the Santa is Mickey> That would make it more interesting. Yeah! Now it's all coming together. What if the Santa Claus was Mickey and all the other characters were in there too!? That would be a cool ride!:sohappy:

With all the cultural diversity, I don't think it would be a good idea. Plus, who would go to that at BB? I mean, it better be heated, for all those who are wet!

Sounds like someone was inspired by the "Winter Summerland" mini-golf course which shares its parking lot with Blizzard Beach. Would agree with the other post that an omnimover attraction is unlikely to be placed outside of a theme park.

But they did make a golf course dealing with the same subject. So I doubt Religion would make a difference.
