Oh man how about it! Talk about a bang your head on the wall game.I love my Bears but I wasn't amused today.

Thats kind of how I feel. While I love my Blackhawks, football has kept me occupied. The sad part of this whole thing is that once everything is settled, the damage will last for a much longer time. I love hockey but lets face it, its barely a blip on most peoples radar. A lockout like this could take years to recover from, just like last time. I know both sides right now think they will win this thing. Unfortunately though, what ever happens, both sides will lose in the end.
Indeed. I was traveling so I was on the tollway listening, torture most of the game. I could see road-rage starting to happen as the final decision was made. Sudden vehicles flooring it, tailgating. My DH was at home, recorded the game and was watching it in the evening without knowing anything. In my head as he turned the game on I was saying to myself DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT. I could see the wind out of his sails as he slid off to bed.Oh man how about it! Talk about a bang your head on the wall game.
For the sake of the league, I hope so. The NHL had a real chance of gaining some ground before this. With things like the winter classic and HD TV making the game translate to TV so much better, things were looking up. Hockey will never be the top sport but it sure could do a lot better than it has.Exactly, they're not a multi-billion dollar industry like the NFL is. As you implied hockey isn't even that big as far as mainstream American sports go (at least right now). The lockout is only setting things further back, and neither side is doing themselves justice with the fans at the moment. Hopefully there is a group of players/owners (think Robert Kraft to the players NFL wise) that will help cooler heads prevail.
