New Years Eve help

Hello everyone,

I want to try an convince my friends to go to Disney World for New Years Eve. I was on this past college program but there was a death in the family and I had to leave a week before New Years Eve so I didn't get to see what it was like. I need some good reasons on why they should go. Some of them have been to Disney and the others have never been, so I have to come up with some good reasons.
So any ideas from the people who have experienced it would be greatly appreciated.
If there are bad reasons, please feel free to add those too, so I get an idea of what it is like.

Thanks a bunch!!

For one, the fireworks are unlike anywhere else they could possibly be in the world for New Years.
I know that many suggest Fantasmic, but for New Years Eve 2001, we were at Epcot and watched Illuminations- it was unbelievable. I have seen Disney fireworks before, but something about the music, the fire barge and the globe with projected images was beyond any fireworks display I've ever seen.

The place was definitely rolling! People were everywhere, it was crazy. The atmosphere was great, people just in good spirits and having a good time everywhere (not people being drunken idiots like at a lot of places on New Years!)
I don't know what age you and your friends are, but the drinking scene was not only big, but respectable- each country, of course, had their own specialty in bars on the promenade so you could order anything from a commemorative flute of champagne to a commemorative half yard of beer from Germany or UK.

If you are looking for something a little wilder, I'm sure that Pleasure Island could fit the bill- you know every night is New Years there, so New Years has got to be unbelievable. And, of course, there are numerous other places around the world to choose from- the ESPN club, the restaurants/bars at Downtown and of course, all the resorts!

Regrdless, New Years in WDW is one of the best that I've ever had!

We have been in Disney 3 times for NYE. We have seen the B52's and Duran Duran on Pleasure Island. I can't remember how much we paid but it was worth it - great atmosphere, fantastic fireworks. IMO it depends who is on as to whether it is worthwhile though, as it happens I am a Duranie :lookaroun and we really wanted to see the B52's. They usually announce who is on around September time.

We have also been to Epcot, it was really enjoyable in the world showcase and everyone seemed to be having a great time and it was nice to try different tipples. Of course the fireworks were amazing.

For the past two years my freinds and I have spent New Years at WDW and it has been awesome. We got to spend a lot of time in the parks, so New Years felt like much more of an experience instead of 10 seconds of counting down and a few fireworks. The fireworks are AMAZING!!!!! I reccomend spending new years at EPCOT, so far i have done EPCOT and MGM, and EPCOT is better, better fireworks, and more stuff to do while waiting until 12. If you are looking for a wild and crazy new years WDW is probably not your place, but you will remeber it for years to come, and in the morning!

I very much agree with Parkeit- EPCOT is my fav choice and it is happenin', yet it's a responsible crowd (no pukers rampaging through the crowd or climbing light posts or causing a commotion!).
The countdown synched with Illuminations was spectacular!
