New Titles and Positions Announced including Jim MacPhee

I will take jedi's word that MacPhee's is not a demotion, despite my initial impression. I'm deeply concerned that one of the MK masterminds is now replacing him and heading the greatest theme park stateside, though.

I still say that as more and more of this shakes out, the image I keep seeing in my mind is Bob and Jay sitting in the office, agreeing that a reorg is necessary, and Bob saying "Jay, you just go handle this the best way you know how. Let me know what you come up with, buddy." And then I keep seeing Jay walking out and rubbing his hands in maniacal glee.

Oh, you had those visions too?:dazzle:

I hate the fact that a MK Exec is working in EPCOT now. I hope he is quick to interchange.

Otherwise...FW might actually become FL South.:lookaroun You know...more so than it already is.

That is why I am surprised Macphee is still there. He basiclly stared Rasulo in the face and said we are going to celebrate Epcot's 25th whether you like it or not.

No he didn't.

Rasolu was completly oblivious to epcots 25th. but what Macphee did was lobby the higher ups at WDW to give him a small budget to put together something at the last minute.

And until Iger grows some balls and fires Rasolu. Rasolu will only gain more power within the organization until it winds up like GM or Lehman Bros.

I get the distinct impression that Iger is completely on board with Rasulo's vision for the parks, and that the only pink slip Rasulo will ever see will come from the hands of a different CEO.

It would be a good thing sure...IF DISNEY was actually planning on building anything at WDW thats non-dvc and for at least the foreseable future all projects are CANCELLED!

They have shifted him sideways like they did to Sklar and Goodman and when they don't have any work for him there gonna shove him out the door.

If you only knew...

Considering the positive news I've been hearing regarding upcoming projects, I would call you on that bluff. I can say that from everything I've been told this week, several projects previously on hold have been brought back to the table for serious evaluation. There are some subtle hints regarding additions in the article actually... You just have to read into it.

Beyond the reading, there really is a reason that you'll see resort alliances (especially between Disneyland and Walt Disney World).

Let me just sing a little song that reminds me of the new situation that seems to be unfolding:

Resort #1 "Sharing is caring, it can be fun!"
Resort #2 "I'll give you some when you have none!"

:animwink:

While you wait for adams answer I can tell you it will have NO effect on current projects simply because, as I have said for months, there are no major ride projects coming up besides the mandatory space rehab!! :(

Um... No.

How does this effect...*ehem*...Current projects?

If anything, it has helped increase the number of current projects. At least one that was on hold was given the green light this week (from what I understand).

No he didn't.

Not quite. Jim Macphee was asked to have his team develop an event for Epcot's 25th in response to the multiple fan events that seemed to "upstage" them. It was a move to regain control of the anniversary, if anything.

I'm not saying that it was poorly done, because I feel that it was the best "celebration" I've experienced at the parks in my life, but I know the reason wasn't to appease the fans, rather to appease the media and critics that wondered why 1200+ fans were doing what a major coorporation could have done all along.

You are an endless pool of overreaction aren't you?

Given these folks probably have not even moved into their new offices, maybe we should give them 24 hours or so before we cast them into a pit of lava.

I think the reason people say what they say is because of the past decisions these people have made.. not for the better I should add... Now, they get put into higher positions of power and we are to suddenly think they had an epiphany to actually DO something constructive???

Wow...just wow.:dazzle::brick:

Please me mature about this... the rest of us are.

My thoughts? Epcot is now screwed.
:dazzle: I hope not.

Well played sir, well played.

Not until they green light it though.
Well good thing NOTHING WILL BE GREEN LIT EVAR!

Yeah, but to compare a management change to companies that are requiring billions in bailouts from the government is a little far fetched at this point.

The WDI shake up makes me said, only because it decreases my chances for a job in the next few years, but I really wasn't banking on that anyway.

Like Adam, I've been hearing whispers of good things out of Orlando. At this point it's a wait and see thing.
