Comedian Frank Conniff of Mystery Science Theater 3000, who's often critical of Star Wars (clearly, he must not understand his target audience), responded to this news with, "I have nothing critical to say about this. Darn it!" Or something to that effect, anyway.

It should be noted that the Star Wars film that everyone says is the best is the one that was neither written nor directed by George Lucas.

Can we go yet?

Huh. I guess Abram will of course be involved with the other films? Just surprising. I guess it was never confirmed he would do the whole series but still.

That's for the best. I don't think I could take three Star Wars movies full of lens flares.
Did you watch the prequels? There were quite a few lens flares there as well.

Though, I agree. Star Wars seems to do its best going from one creative eye to another (original trilogy).

The prequels are probably not the best example... Granted, they could have been worse, but.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was only using the prequels as an example of lens flares. The other statement was a separate idea alluding to the OT.
