New restaurants at Disney Springs look pretty good!

Here is Steven Schussler buying an amphicar on Discovery's Fast and Loud. This aired about a year ago, and I remember telling my dad when we were watching it that this was for Disney. This was before permits or construction had begun. He even mentioned he is doing an exhibit for a resort in orlando. I think its pretty cool that this randomly showed up on the discovery channel.

Thanks for the media post! That was fun to watch, both knowing what the car is for and just seeing the cars. Sweet!

Except its not being run by Landry's, its being run by Gibson's which is very good news.

Gibson's is fine dining here in Illinois. Famous have preformed at that venue and the steakhouse quickly became known as the finest of steaks in Chicagoland. They know their clientele. Still family owned. You will drop a great deal of money dining here.

I like the sound of both of these...Morimoto for the change in pace food and Boathouse for the water vehicles. I suspect that both will be pretty expensive, but hey...you're on vacation at Didney Wurld!

I really wonder how these very high end restaurants will go over in DTD?

I know when we've gone to Gibson's with 4 of us it would easily cover the cost of a nights stay at the Beach Club. The area Gibson's-Chicago is here is in a different type of area, upscale nightlife, I am so curious what demographic this entire area is going to play to. I can't imagine going into Gibsons Orlando, paying that price and being next to a family that has been in the parks all day leaping over to drop $400 or so on a meal or maybe everyone will be ordering the burgers? Disney is already having difficulties filling their high end deluxe resorts.

Interested to see how this whole area plays out.

From what I've seen from the concept art for Disney Springs, it seems like they still have a long way to go with construction

These prices look reasonable I've paid a lot more in Chicagoland for similar items

So i'm confused here, is The Boathouse like an undercover Gibson's establishment?

Nah more like most likely they(Gibsons) didn't want to pay ludicrous Disney rates and they the restaurant group is paying the rates and furnishing the venue and entertainment and Gibsons get a profit percentage of the venue.

The prices are directly on par for the typical sit down nicer restaurants at Disney World.. About the same as Flying Fish, Artist Point or California Grill...I am not the least bit surprised... I just hope it is not another ear-shatteringly loud restaurant like T-Rex ....The sound level in the newer restaurants is just ridiculous... especially with a $41.00 steak.

Keep in mind with the four seasons now in Disney you will need more places for the higher end clients to dine.

It's great to be getting more detailed announcements now, finally after 18 months. When Disney Springs was announced in March, 2013 it was hard to pin hopes on generic names such as "Disney Burger", or "Italian Restaurant"! The bizarre backstory and vague list of possible vendors did not make total sense, or get me terribly excited, but the details about these two new places are interesting. The Boathouse in particular has a uniqueness, could be charming if they can pull off the theming.
I'm still holding out hope for "Walt's Place" whatever that may be, and for a second Trader Sam's here.
Also hoping for new sit-down quick service options. Can't all be high-end dining, and food trucks with nothing in between... can it? :)

You won't see a Trader Sam's here.
