Is this something they typically new for a new show or experience?

As many have stated, the videos and photos do not do the actual show (or any live show) justice, but those are some beautiful photos. Can't wait to see it in 3 weeks.

That's true of everything Disney does lately around here.

Depends on the element and no if they can fix on the fly. As we've seen, some issues require a full stop, in which case they restart for the guests' benefit.

They could. TDS has good experience of this.

I apologize, I just find this obsession with fire/fireworks to be mind boggling.

Fireworks (and fire, I suppose) are primal. They'll always be attention-getting on a basic human level. There are some simple things that theme parks, no matter how technologically advanced, should still never get rid of. I don't care how many audio-animatronics and screenz you have, crowds are always going to line up for a good, old-fashioned roller coaster. Sometimes you have to give the people a little of what they expect.

That said, while I think fireworks would improve the show incrementally, the lack thereof is hardly its biggest flaw (that's a horse race between crowd control, under-use of the animal floats and hazy, indistinct projections).

WOC is in it's own class, ROL doesn't even come close to it as far as overall concept / show / effects / music.

Oh yeah, a Disney movie clipshow that threw out a bunch of new recordings in favor of direct movie rips and muddled its structure for extended commercials is much better then a show with an original concept and music.

Yes, just lights, but they used similar lighting to the animal floats, allowing for very unique lighting patterns.

I agree. The tech can produce gorgeous imagery in WoC when they let it. But usually you're just watching a clip show. RoL is more visually appealing, it just needs a more impressive finale. Disney is aware that many guests feel this way, but we shall see if and how they respond.

Weekday shows are Tuesday and Thursday but it was by a few Cm's that this was the last soft show until Friday's opening. Wether thats true or not who knows.

Darn. Was hoping to catch a glimpse on Wednesday.

I could go back on Friday night, but it would disrupt my schedule some lol.

Didn't they already install smoke machines in the lagoon? I know it was a planned feature that seems didnt make it, would be a nice addition to the show.

Yeah why did they ax the fog effect? Did it have to do with the navigation system or something?

Poor Animal Kingdom and its fog effects. They were fun on Everest...

I rather like it. Then again I enjoy subdued shows along with the big spectacles.
There's something fulfilling about having a good tasting meal with enough taste to leave you wanting more.

I'm also sure I'll enjoy it a lot more when I see it in person in a few years. Crossing fingers.
