Hi Disney Fans.

I'm new to the forum, first post .... right here! I'd been looking for a friendly, active Disney community, and after looking around the interwebs, WDWMagic seemed like it was full of nice folks.

I'm going to WDW on a solo trip next month, during what I call "super quiet week" at the end of the month. Absolutely my favorite time to go. (I went last year during a quiet time also.) I always choose one of those weeks because especially going solo, I like the more quiet nature of the parks. Also being a massive introvert, I feel like I can talk to a Cast member with feeling like its super busy and I'm bugging them.

What's your favorite time to go, and why? I'm very curious.

I like it in the spring during the Flower & Garden Festival. I love the ambiance of Epcot during that time. A great way to kick off spring. We also use to go in October and loved the low crowds.

I also have always wanted to go over Christmas time, but can never find the time.

Anytime is a good time, though.

My last few trips have been November two years ago (fairly low crowds), February last year (loved it!), and my January trip this year is listed at daily crowd levels of 1 and 2 (depending where you look) - Can't wait!!

January is really solid. I went a few times the week after new years before I had kids. Really quiet week since all of the kids just went back to school. Besides low crowd levels the weather is usually nice (although 1 of my trips it was unseasonably cold). I prefer a little cooler over excessive heat anyway and it's nice to get away from the cold at home. Only downside is some rides might be on maintenance shutdowns and it gets dark early so the parks tend to close a little earlier. You make up for this by not waiting in lines.

Welcome! Have fun on your solo trip - I know I loved mine. My favorite time to go is during Christmas, and my last 3 trips were the week just before the holiday. Great time to be there, no crowds and nice weather. My next trip will be next September as I have a Disney cruise booked and want to experience the Halloween party.

Traditionally I always went during the last week of February, first week of March. That was due to the fact that I lived in the north and wanted to get away from the cold for a few days and see some palm trees. Also it was because the schools up north always had a mid-winter break during that time, so the kids were out of school and it was easier to hit the road. During that time the parks were busy because of the northern migration, but not overwhelming.

Now that I live in NC, the weather isn't really a motivator, but I still like that time of year the best. The first week of December isn't bad either. You couldn't force me to be in central Florida in the summer, it's hot enough here.

Welcome to WDWMAGIC!! I'm fairly new also and have found that most are very friendly....You'll figure out which ones aren't quite quickly. ;) We loved late September too. We are booked for next December and can't wait to see what that time of year is like.

Thanks for the welcome, Zipitidoda and Tigger, and thanks for the comments, all! Gofeyernmost - Agreed! I moved from Florida to NYC to extreme Northern NY over a lifetime. My "Dead of Winter" annual trip is very much a week to get out of the cold weather. I love the cold (clearly), but it's nice to have a break.
