I really like this one for TDL...For an Anime fan this was really good...Had a Miyazaki vibe to the Animation..

Oh my god. I think my head just exploded from sheer awesomeness...it's like the best of both worlds.

It's funny, that commercial did a better job of conveying Disney magic at a theme park than any of the "Disney Parks" ads I've seen over the recent years.

Edit: Wow, I had no idea how right I was. Started looking up commercials on Youtube to compare and now I have a sudden urge to punch a wall...Disneyland, how could you let this happen?

Harajuku is our favorite neighborhood in Tokyo. Spent more time there during this last trip than anywhere other than Shinagawa (where the hotel was).

This could be neat to see.

Probably not appropriate for a Disney park because of the bikini chicks, but Robot Restaurant would be a heck of a thing to bring to America.

What I got from this......

No it's totally fine, I saw Captain America's shield at 0:05. They'll just tie this in, along with Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe....I'm sure Tony Stark'll be happy.

Although Batman won't be...

When it comes to casting for talent, you can look, and hint at, but not specify, exact ethnicity ... it is technically illegal. Good casting agencies can help you get exactly what your looking for but in terms of posting or having a casting call for something like this, it could easily lend itself to a lawsuit were they to say, 'applicants must be Japanese'.

It is something I deal with all the time when clients want specific ethnicity's to represent their product. Their are cues like last names, ext that help ... or a really good casting agent that knows their stuff.

I remember going to a presentation where Joe Rohde talked about Aulani, and he said he wanted people of Hawaiian heritage for several of the roles (including bartenders), but that it wasn't legal to be that specific. He instead specified that there should be a Hawaiian language fluency requirement, since that WOULD be legal and would most likely only bring in ethnic Hawaiians anyway.

I thought that was clever. I wonder if Disney could specify a similar Japanese language requirement here.

Japan never ceases to amaze and befuddle me... and I studied the language in high school and college

Off Kilter played hardly any actual Canadian music so I don't know why people are shocked. I for one, want to see more of contemporary Japan portrayed.

You don't see why people are shocked? Because they prefer music over chain saws.....

It has been covered quite a bit already but their style of music is very popular in areas the east coast of Canada. I live a stones throw from the border, my father and half of my family are still living in canada. None of them play with saws for fun but they wouldn't mind if a Celtic tune came on the radio...

And as far as Japan goes... sure why not have a jugglao meet and greet at the American pavilion too!

I don't believe it is. There's auditions up on the website right now asking for African heritage and Caucasian performers.
Actually I know I am right ... I cast people all the time for Print and TV, and it's considered a form of discrimination, like it or not ... and African Heritage is not the same as asking for Africans, and Caucasian is not a specific race.

What you do to get what you want is hire a good casting director who knows their stuff, they can get you a Japanese person without asking specifically for a Japanese person. They look at facial features, last names, etc. and narrow down your casting from their.
