New IllumiNations Pre-Show Music

After hearing the music now, it isn't 'techno' like you would think from the 1st sound clip. Either that song is fairly quick or it changes into a more traditional sounding pre show music.

The new music still works to set the mood as far as I can tell. It's hard to part with something so good, that no matter what they did (even if people view this as an improvement as time goes on) it's going to generate negative backlash in the beginning

I heard it a couple times last week and I didn't care much for it either. Just didn't "do it" I guess. I wish Diseny would quit screwing with things that work.

Decided to take a drive over there tonight.

I have to say, the music is.. really just.. well, so so.
At first, I was like "It's a Epcot RAVE! where is the glow sticks?"

Then whatever that song was, ended and it got into a bit more slow and moody stuff. Okay, but NOT as good as the original pre-show. Not at all!

I didn't get the chance, but I wanted to ask at Guest Relations if there was some reason it was changed, guest complaints, licensing issues etc.

P.S. You'll be happy to note, all the fireworks and inferno effects were working correctly.

I still dont think the music is that bad and am still lookin for the full songs to download. Does anyone know what the name of the various pieces of music are and respective artists?

I just got back. Personally, I think that this music is better than the previous stuff.

It's more upbeat--it got me pumped for IlluminNations. The later, more celtic inspired stuff, is really wonderful.

Got to agree that its more upbeat than a lot of the previous music and also the celtic inspired stuff with bagpipes is great.

While losing the Cusco stuff wasnt a bad idea, I'm still not that impressed. Lose the new 180 bpm ambient techno song at the beginning and bring back "They Were Dancing Barefoot" as well as "Along the Coast of Norway." I really miss John Williams' "American Morning" (which they rarely ever let play all the way through).

Some of the new stuff is OKAY but its just a little too "glow-stick" inspired, IMO.

I saw it twice in this past week. I must say the new music is not as good as the old (IMO). When it started I thought it was terrible, but it did get better. The thing that bothered me the most about Illuminations was that the torch did not work at all at the end. The globe opened, but it did not light either night.

When we were there a couple of weeks ago Illuminations was delayed a couple of nights, the reason i figured was that they usually test out the fountains pre-show but on the nights it was delayed they didnt test them till 8.55 / 9pm. The last nite there had been some T-storms and i dont know if it is related but many of the torches around the Mexico and Norway pavillions didnt work at any point before or during the show. There was tho no problem with the torch in the globe.

Thanks for posting the music samples. Track #1 sounds the most rave like. I let the tracks loop for awhile and they grew on me. I still love the old music loop, but I think I will be able to accept the new one after listening to it for a bit. Sounds like the new music has a subliminal message to buy Disney Glow crap. :lookaroun :sohappy:

If they grew on you from a 4min loop then im sure they would grow a lot more when you here them in the park. I really like the new music having heard it quite a bit when we were there and need to try find out where i can get the music.

You mite have a point about the Disney glow crap :animwink:
