New IllumiNations Pre-Show Music

You know, I don't get it! They change an incredible pre-show music list. That pre-show music was untouchable!

To add insult to injury, that freaking ball in epcot has a freaking Mickey arm lit up holding a stupid Magic Wand, and then they finally get the great idea to put images up on the sphere, and then what? they take them down.

I think likely this is the attempt of someone just trying to fool around with the works of disney in hopes that either they can find something the crowd will like or end up getting fired when the music sounds worse than a rielly bad 80s techno album. Either way, I think this only gives me more incentive to spend my nights at other parks instead of epcot.

Wow. . . you all ARE passionate about this loop! I don't think it's a horrible thing (I have yet to actually be there and see how it works), but I wonder if ALL the songs are techno. . .

As much as I loved the music loop, I still love Epcot and will give this new music a chance.

The projection system was a test and/or only for special occasions, so its hard to criticize it not being there. :)

And if we learn to enjoy this pre show music that will be MORE good memories and music we are exposed to. Let's face it, when something goes away, it becomes more revered and better in our minds :D

I really like the new music. I have heard it a few times now, it is a bit more edgy than the old music, which I thought was a little too folksy.

Out of the 4 clips, only one was decent to me, which was the one with the bagpipes. I wonder if this is all Disney artists or is it commercial tunes?

That is garbage...I am so fond of the old loop. Every vacation, I knew it was time for IllumiNations because I had all of those songs ingrained in my mind--they had a perfect balance of high energy and peaceful music that really set the mood for IllumiNations. This new music is trash, for the most part, with only one track that I like. If they wanted to make changes, they should have kept the current songs and added these horrendous ones to the mix, started it at 8 pm (when people actually start really lining up for seats), waited for the inevitable complaints to come in, and switch back. I'm glad I went to wdw before these new song debuted, and won't be back till 2006. This makes me want to stay on Test Track/Mission: SPACE till 8:55 pm and then run over to World Showcase just in time for the show...boo, Disney. As the cliché goes, "if it ain't broken..."

It is edgy and I would like it in a dance club, but it does not suit World Showcase at all. Soon they will change it to IllumiNations: The Rave...

You won't find a bigger fan of the old pre show music. I'll give this new music a chance, we haven't hear ALL of it. Can't judge something but a few sound snippets.

Next thing you'll be telling me is that Health Ledger will be back as your avatar :cry: :cry: :cry:

Please don't base your judgement of the new music on the clips that were provided in post #1. The music is not really that heavy with the dance beat. The music does sound much better when you listen to it in the park, and IMO is an improvement.....also, it seems to me that the general public is a bit more into this music than the old music, (at least in the many times I have been there, this has been the case).

The pic is very funny. I do like the new music and it does sound a lot better when u hear it in the park. Some of the old stuff was great as well so like i said before have music from 8 and mix the old and the new. The next time it will change is when Eisner next visits and demands that a selection from his private music collection is played. Then you'll think that the new music is good.

Thank you for listing the tracks in the original loop---it may be gone for now, but not forgotten. With your list, I was able to go to Amazon.com and buy all but one of the cd's (mostly used around $5) from the original loop. Now I can make my own pre-illuminations cd to enjoy whenever I want to. Thank you again for the link to the track listing :slurp:
