Gondola towers will not be painted, with a few exceptions.

All towers are galvanized steel, but the one opposite the IG station is painted go away green and reportedly the one located next to the DHS station is painted, too.

Others may appear, but they'll be the exception, not the rule.

Lest we think that WDW is the only gondola that would do upcharges, I woke up to this email in my inbox this morning, from the Matterhorn Bergbahnen in Zermatt, Switzerland:
gondola.JPG

Breakfast is $65 for adults and $49 for children

Fondue is $95 for adults and $67 for children

There's also a VIP gondola ride in a fancy gondola with individual leather seats and champagne, which is one-way $101 for up to 4 people, or $152 for a round-trip

Considering how expensive everything is in Switzerland, these prices don't seem unreasonable. They're slightly more than a meal and a non-skier ride on the gondola would be separately, but the premium isn't huge. Given the breathtaking views and the length of the ride, it would certainly be a memorable experience; it seems like a great way for them draw some extra business during the off-season.

WDW's gondola ride through swampy forests and parking lots won't be nearly as scenic, nor will the ride be long enough for a real "experience" without having to do multiple loops. But something tells me that won't stop them from trying!

Well, Gatorland charges $60 to zip line over swamps. Think how much one could charge for a magical VIP swamp experience!

That does bring up a good question, on those chilly mornings and evenings, how much air flow within the gondolas? Enough to freeze everyone in the cabin?

Now everybody needs to understand, in the Winter it will be too cold in the gondolas and in the Summer it will be too hot in the
gondolas. From now on the only time to come to WDW will be the Spring & Fall. :p

Gondolas could be a solution to the summertime traffic jams up here. Picture a gondola from the back deck of the Hampton Beach Casino over to Winnacunnet or some other parking lot on Rte. 1.

Norm, where are you from? Your references are right in my backyard. By the way, that would be incredibly cool and would probably
increase the beach traffic a lot. Of course it would never happen, with that option, how does somebody charge $20 for beach parking?

Not the same sort of traffic as trying to get to the Casino and Ballroom up on the north shore, but isn't it true that someone is thinking of building a gondola to run out to the seaport area from South Station? that part of town has always been a bit cut off with only the awkward Silver Line serving it.
Ah, here it is. https://boston.curbed.com/2018/2/28/17060846/boston-gondola-project-millennium-south-station
I agree. I always thought a new central station should have been built during the big dig. North and South stations are awkward. Transfers suck. Maybe a gondola between North and South stations would work.

What you don't appreciate a good mile plus walk, with your bags? (Yes, I know you could get an Uber, but you get the idea.)
I actually live in Hampton.
