Would the "Running of the Bears" be a special ticket event or included in admission?
Included in park admission. Park exit would be a separate fee. Consider it "plussing"....

One of these "things" wouldn't happen to be "fix" DinoLand USA and MI - would it @marni1971 ?
They really could put those pixies all over the park...with a different one doing something different with different kinds of animals. And "Pixie Hollow" could be built under the Tree of Life where the Bug's Life thing is. To me that would be much better than having the bugs in there.
In the same way they have the Lion King film in the Land, or Nemo and Friends at the Living Seas acting as hosts to explain the environment to kids, it seems to me they could do something similar with Tinker Bell at Animal Kingdom, since she is one of their most recognizable characters and the films all deal with nature and animals
Guys.... its called "ANIMAL" Kingdom - Not "Ride" Kingdom.
We need more Animals. Maybe grizzly bears? We need bears. In time for Brave 2?
Ok, that's not exactly what I'm talking about, but what I'm saying is I think a big part of the reason they want to put Avatar in Animal Kingdom is to try and give the place some kind of identity, which it doesn't really have
* checks out Phineas and Ferb *
Ah! I get it now! That show already uses the theme of the supersensory, skilled hunter platypus having an image of a lazy creature. :lightbulb:
What can I say? I don't really watch Disny Channel cartoons. I'm a Disney parks fan for their history, world culture, technology, and natural history. I'm happy these traditional Disney subjects aren't tossed aside in the parks nowadays to make way for homogenised cartoon tie-ins everywhere and....wait, bah!
I agree. I would like to see water buffalo added to Kilimanjaro Safaris too.
you come back and you get 7 likes. Way to go.Know what would be awesome? More Animals.
Seriously, they're down to 5 tigers now and the girls they have are 15 years old.
Cool animals like Pandas or Penguins or something else that could be a headliner attraction, none of this zebra stuff. Unless you're mixing zebras and cheetahs....

I agree, I would like to see sea animals. Penguins with a show. A real dolphins show would be nice. You could move that so called "Living Seas" from Epcot. Yes it would be similar to Sea World but hopefully with a Disney touch.
Yep you nailed it.I see this place hasnt changed a bit while I was gone. Same arguments, same criticisms, same fanboiz who insist on only their view of the park.
Only difference I see is that the criticisms become more and more valid with each and every visit I make. I figure Ive spent close to and entire year of my life visiting WDW... kind of Sad if you think about it.
Oi!
The platypus is one of the world's deadliest killers. Ferocious hunters!
Platypussies hunt by closing their eyes, blocking their ears, and using the Force. The great wizard that dwells in the sandy desert of the Outback, Oibi-Wan Kenoibi, describes this Force as an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.
The Force is strong in these ones :
I was thinking the exact same thing!Platypussies? Is that the next Bond movie?
Yeah, one more vote from me too for 'Yesazuh, please'. Nothing wrong with giving people animals. Animals are like movies, pretty much everybody loves them. So if you have a movie park, or an animal park, just deliver us those goods. No need to be afraid DAK will be a 'zoo', no more than DHS needs to fear being a 'cinema'.I agree. I would like to see water buffalo added to Kilimanjaro Safaris too.
Hmmm....let me see if I can find some entire episodes then. The thing is, the show looks a bit geared towards very young kids, so I never really bothered.I'm with you on that train of thought... but P&F are the exception... I'm sorry but they got some funny material.

Maybe I need to give it a shot!
Well, some may consider it a hill!
Huh? If anything, DAK is the strongest Disney park in terms of identity. It's about animals and nature. Asia? Animals. Africa? Animals and nature expeditions (yeah, the yeti is a stretch, but it's in that realm). Dinosaurs? They are animals. Nemo? Animal. Bug's life? A film full of animals.
How does the park not fit the theme? And Avatar, a film that couldn't be more over the top about conservation and appreciating nature and having beautiful/interesting flora and fauna easily fits in with the theme.
I don't get how anyone could argue that DAK has a theme problem.
No the reason why they want to add anything is to keep the park running later than 6pm most nights when the Animals have to go sleep.
The dedication of Animal Kingdom has always talked about Real, Imaginary and Extinct - Avatar is essentially using the Imaginary hook as the ways to get it into the AK with the underlying conservation message of the whole park.
AK theme is pretty straight forward does it feature a real animal? Imaginary animal? Extinct animal? If the answer is no to all 3 questions than place the idea in the bin and start again. Again not vague to anyone who can read a road sign - and say: "Hey that is Animal Kingdom, that must have rides featuring Animals!"
It don't take a genius to work it out...
but why is Nemo there? because there are a lot of aquariums in the world, how do they make their aquarium special? add Nemo, he'll get people in the door. That's why Nemo is in the Living Seas, and that's why Avatar is coming to town... PERIOD.
