Need Some Resort Advice

Hello everyone. I am planning on going back to WDW for the first time since 2016 and I was looking for some advice. I have a large family and in the past we have travelled with relatives so we could split my children up amongst the reservations so we could get a standard room. It's just going to be us this time so I am looking for the best options for accomodations for us. There will be at least 6 of us (maybe 7). I originally wanted to stay at the Poly but that is probably not possible unless I make a reservation for 5 and buy the 6th their park ticket separately? Does anyone else have a large family and want to give me advice on where they stay?

Thanks

Have you thought about renting some DVC points? My family is already DVC and when we all go, we frequently stay in a 2-bedroom at Old Key West. It can comfortably fit up to 8 adults so a party with children won't be an issue.

Adding a ticket for a person doesn't allow them the same options/opportunities as others on the reservation, like early entry, extra hours (if you stay at a deluxe), etc. They will not be eligible for the same benefits.

Room max capacity is a fire code/safety thing so without sounding rude-I don't mean to-it is something I wouldn't try to get around.

I don’t fall into the large family category but I would look at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. The prices there for. 2 or even 3 bedroom suite are going to be much cheaper than onsite.

You could look at the cabins at FW or the family suites at All Stars Music or AoA, as @Marionnette suggested. The ASM ones are cheaper and have been refurbished recently.

Or two standard rooms. They won’t guarantee connecting rooms but if you make it your only request at POP or the All Stars there is a good chance of getting them. And it allows for the 7th person if they decide to join you.

The FW cabins are being replaced with new DVC cabins. The DVC Cabins at FW are expected to be ready in 2024. That means that they will be removing the old cabins relatively soon. The DVC cabins will be modular "homes" just like the old cabins were. The difference will be the price. Since it will be DVC, you can expect a much bigger price tag for those 1BR villas!

If you book now you don’t need to worry about the cost going up.

For seven people, there are fewer on-property options. As others have stated, either two standard rooms or a two-bedroom DVC villa are options. The treehouses at Saratoga Springs is another. If you are not married to the idea of staying on-site, you can also look into renting a vacation home. For less than the price of two standard rooms, you could get a full house with a pool and lots of space.

The Treehouses are a great option if they fit your budget.

I second renting DVC points. The 2bd is great as they’ve got in-room laundry facilities which is awesome for large families with kids (and adults)!

Have you considered the Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek Village and Cabins. Beautiful resort. Not sure if you can rent DVC Points there. I hope you have wonderful travels with your friends/family!
