Wow, what a shocker. NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke has told people close to him that he will exit the company once his contract expires in August 2020, if not earlier that year, per Variety.

Jeff Shell, currently Chairman of NBCU Film and Entertainment, is the top contender to replace him.

Confirmed: Shell will assume the CEO role effective January 1. Burke will continue to serve as Chairman until his contract expires.
