NBA Experience at Disney Springs

What about the betting window? I didn't see that listed in the article. Wonder if they'll have Tim Donaghy on hand for autograph signings.

Within 5 years (likely sooner) it'll probably be legal and I'm sure they have their eye on that with regard to this place.

I for one am looking forward to this, but then I like basketball and the nba. Will it appeal to everyone? Of course not, but how many things at wdw can we honestly say every one loves? Imagine we each have some attraction or experience we love or hate that many on here would flip out if we admitted it.

Same here. This is far more interesting to me than the endless, samey urban-trendy-foodie-fad $$$$ restaurants going in there.

I'm not a huge NBA guy but this will be hugely popular. The NBA is much bigger world wide than the NFL. I'll likely check it out depending on the prices.

It will be with really good, affordable food. The basketball hall of fame draws in 200-300k a year (numbers are a few years old). I'm not sure how many people coming to Disney world are going to take a lot of time to go down there to visit (always thought springs was more locals). It has a lot of places to compete with there, so it needs to nail its menu (I still believe the restaurant will be the most important part of this thing). Also will depend on pricing. Lots to hash out in my mind before I can think one way or the other.

And the NBA HOF would draw a lot more people, but it's located in Springfield, Mass, a city that nobody really has any reason to go to unless you live in the area or plan to go to the HOF. The NBA Experience will do really good.

I find that hard to believe. Disney springs has good food for sure, but the quality is commensurate with price. You speak like it would be at the price of a good restaurant off site.. which I doubt. Especially if the place is primarily an entertainment venue rather than a restaurant. I wouldn't mind being wrong though.

No, not off site cheap. I'm basically saying it cant be planet Hollywood.

Maybe. It's right on par with every other sports hall of fame. Again, I dont think the experiences will be enough of a draw, its food needs to be a hit.

Isn’t CityWorks handling the food?

I thought there is two establishments in the building, the NBA Experience which is the interactive basketball thing and the Cityworks restaurant and bar that is the Sports Bar part.
I get the impression the NBA Experience is just an interactive "museum" and the sports bar will be an entirely separate venue.

This is my belief also. NBA Experience won't have it's own restaurant, but I could be wrong.

Oh I figured theyd be attached someway. I dont know, really not for me in the least. Wish it was for more sports, but if the sports bar is done well and gets other sports packages, it may draw me. I always have such a desire to catch a hockey game or two when the family is resting, and espn is so bad.

There is a bit more information on it here https://www.wdwmagic.com/dining/cit...ur-house-coming-to-disney-springs-in-2019.htm

Although this concept art does also show bar and grill as part of the NBA experience too https://www.wdwmagic.com/attraction...2017-the-nba-experience-concept-art/31382.htm
However if you want non-basketball sports it sounds like City Works Eatery will be the place.

The new MGM casino should drum up some extra business for the HOF
