Never been to California Grill, but I had dinner at Narcoossee's last April. I loved it. We had a beautiful view of the lake at dusk from our table. The food was excellent - I had scallops, DH had a steak. And our server was wonderful. So, I can say it's a very nice experience.

Also I'm a lover of cheap, red, fizzy wine - think Riunite Lambrusco. But I discovered Banfi Rosa Regale Brachetto d'Acqui, a not so cheap, red, fizzy while I was at Narcoossee's. That made for a lovely night at WDW.

We've dined at both restaurants for dinner. They are both lovely with great selling points - food, location (view), staff. There's more than sushi on the menus.
We had a lovely fish dinner at Narcoossee's with a wonderful bottle of white.
Here's the brunch menu (from January 2017) -

We had three amazing meals at The California Grill. We enjoyed many bottles of Disney's own Silverado cabernet with them.
Here's the brunch menu (at least from 2016) -

I have been to the California Grill for brunch, I haven't done the brunch at Narcoossee's. I really enjoyed my brunch. You could totally skip the sushi and not feel like you're missing out. There is a charcuterie board, yogurt with all sorts of toppings, fruit, salads, deviled eggs, pastries and a bunch of other items I am probably omitting. Then you select an entree, so pace yourself. :p Then you get dessert at your table. You get unlimited mimosas and you can go up the buffet as many times as you wish. There is also a live jazz trio that plays sets throughout brunch. At the end, you can outside and check out the views of MK and the other parks. I think it is a really unique type of brunch and it's become a must-do for me.

EDIT: I am adding the photos I have.
Some of the pastries. I swear, I didn't tell that guy to smile. I wasn't even focused on him.

This is the Spanish omelette. It is filled with chorizo and manchego cheese and topped with Romesco sauce.

Can both of these be booked on the MDE app for brunch? Everytime I randomly search, even on Sundays 180 days out, neither of them show up under Breakfast or Lunch as available to be booked. I know it's popular, but can't imagine it books up like Victoria & Albert's does.

I'm curious because I'd be willing to drive (live 2 1/2 hours away from Disney) for brunch one morning and make a day out of it.

California Grill is great but there is a TON of food! Almost too much. You get sushi and other things along with a full entree. I could just do with the small bites and bloody mary and be completely satisfied.

After reading about the California Grill Brunch for months I was finally able to snag a reservation for my mom on Mothers Day! Curious though, does anyone know if the Passholder discount is accepted for brunch? It's only 10% at California Grill but better then nothing I suppose......

On Easter, they had the 'normal' buffet described above that they always have, but then they'd added a crepe station and carving station for lamb and (maybe?) prime rib, in addition to the main entree and the plated desserts. Mother's Day should be a very nice meal for you and your mom...enjoy!

We've had brunch up there 4 times now, and the last 3 times, they packaged up the desserts (including the cute 'fried egg' chocolate!) to go, and we at them for dayyyyyys. It is a TON of food, nibble through the buffet! I think it's $80, and we *did* get the AP discount.

Wow! That sounds excellent. Thank you! I'm looking forward to it.

Narcoossee's does not have a bruch anymore...they ended it I think at the first of the year... it was so good so that is disappointing BUT
I try to make the California Grille brunch every time I am at Disney...IT is not to be missed....It is so so good !
