I just came back from The World last night, and I am already in withdraw of my Disney Drug. But here are a few things I picked up on.
-Epcot majorly needs some updates to its futureworld area. We had a first-timer with us, and he pointed out how he could definitely see the age of that park, especially in that area. We also had trouble finding stuff to do in that area. It is greatly lacking in that department.
-Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain look GREAT! They are very fresh now, basically all effects working, and the new que for BTMRR is spectacular.
-The interiors of the monorails DESPERATELY need a refurbishment or revamp of some sort. The seats are torn and the colors are outdated. The plastic near the doors are cracked and way too scuffed up. (I know there are a billion people knocking into them everyday, but still). Also, one of the doors would not shut all the way automatically. One of the workers had to manually slam it shut. Pretty scary.
-The Legend of Jack Sparrow in DHS was probably the biggest waste of my time. Ever. It looked liked Disney just had an extra warehouse and decided to throw something in there to diminish the crowds. Almost everybody walking out of there was complaining about how disappointing it was, and would never do it again.
-We had dinner at Beast's Castle, and may I say it way exceeded my expectations!!! The attention to detail was astronomical, and the food was the best food I had had in a very long time. We at in the Beast's room, and it was scary how real it was. Again, the detail was unimaginable. Also, the service was very good. 5 stars for me!
-This has probably been mentioned many times before, but I was not too keen on the generalized merchandise everywhere. Every shop we went in had the exact same merchandise as the shop before. We found it very difficult to find something cool and unique to buy. That was a major thing the first-timer did not like.
-There was a lot of construction/refurbishments going on all around the property, which is good because it shows that effort is going in to keep the parks up to standard. It was not noisy and didn't really intrude on any of our plans, so it was not a big issue.
Overall, it was a very incredible trip, and i can NOT wait to go back who knows when. Our hotel, the Polynesian, was so beautiful and really felt like home. I wish I could relive it all. I hope you enjoyed reading this!
