My Halloween Tree was the Jewelry Design Star Winner (squee!)

I hope this is ok to share. I've never won a contest like this and I'm just very excited about it and wanted to share my excitement with as many people as possible!

Artbeads had a "Jewelry Design Star" contest - and I won! My "Halloween Moon" tree of life pendant was the winner among all the entries. There's a feature about me on their website that was published today.

Old Town is in Kissimmee. I ask because my husband bought a pendant for me there that is similar, and I've had a lot of people compliment me about it.

Ah...no, I'm over in Tampa. Lots of people make variations of the tree of life pendant though, so I'm not surprised you would have seen one elsewhere.

Yeah that's a different style than the ones I do. Everyone has a bit of a personal way of making them. Mine always have the roots, thick trunk and then branches forming a sort of "half-circle" of leaves. Like this:

The one that happened to win is one of my bare branches one, but of course, I also do ones with the full "leaves" style as well.

I can see where the full leaves work better - when the tree itself is the focus, and where the empty branches design is more appropriate - when the moon is the focus. Both designs are very pretty in their own way.

Yeah, exactly! In the full moon series, it's really all about the moon. But in the regular ones, it's about a live, vibrant tree. Obvious as it sounds, I like my pendants to look like trees; I'm inspired by nature and I want them to reflect that more natural look.
