What is better to use the My Disney App or getting Magic Bands?

You don't need magic bands, but its very handy to be able to tap for park entry, room entry, LLs etc. no fumbling and maybe dropping your phone.

Theres no difference in what you use, it's a matter of your preference, they accomplish the same thing.
On our last trip my DS used his phone the entire time, I used my MB, and DW used the card she got from check in at resort. There are I believe more guests avoiding the purchasing of MB's due to the cost and I've heard Dis may be getting away from the MB's now because of that trend.
DS told me that he's going to use his phone again this trip, DW will ask for a card again and I may get a MB only if I see a design I like.

I’m still a fan of Magic Bands and would much much rather use my band than my phone. My phone already does enough in my life. I like that Disney still has this extra little thing. I don’t bring my phone to the pool at the resorts. My wife doesn’t bring her phone on her morning runs at the resorts. We still find the bands super convenient

Yes they are convenient but if people are on a tight budget they can avoid an unnecessary cost by skipping that purchase.

We use our Magic Bands the majority of the time while at Walt Disney World. We also bring our old Magic Bands rather than purchase new ones. We have been able to use Bands that are between 5-10 years old with no issues.

Pssst.. Don't let on to Disney that. They'd rather guests buy new ones every time they go. The life expectancy that's reported by Dis on the MB's has been 2-3 years.

That is true for the on-ride photos. But for most things old ones work just fine.
