Moving trip from March to January

We are considering moving our trip from mid March to early January. I have talked with WDW and our discount is still good for that time frame. I am wondering if we do this how difficult will making fast pass choices be and what other obstacles it would bring up. We might look for one table service meal on our trip but our dining plan is quick service. We have visited DW many times and know our way around, but we have never dowe a trip on short notice. Your thoughts are appreciated.

It may be difficult to book the top rides like The Mine Train and Anna and Elsa, but it is not impossible. I've done it before but was able to achieve it by constantly checking the MDE fastpass section to see if anything had become available. If you are going to do this, doing it as soon as possible is best. I am going from late December- early January and even though my 60 day advantage is now over, I was able to get a fastpass for The Mine Train a couple of days ago at lunch time even though it had shown no availability any of the other times I had tried. Also, last Christmas I was able to get an Anna and Elsa fastpass as my fourth fastpass choice in the ticket booth and even the lady who helped me was surprised, but believe it or not, my daughter didn't want to use a fastpass for a character meeting (I guess it was a more important to me!) and we changed it to the Barnstormer. Good luck!

I have a trip planned in January. Im staying offsite and my 30 day window didnt limit any of my fastpasses. I have a special FP Planning Key added to MDX so if you need help checking Fastpass availability for certain dates, give me a shout.

After further review, we have decided to stick with our March dates. It's just "too much, too soon". I'm afraid without the proper planning time that we might miss something. Thanks!
