Most memorable moment

Even though everything in Disney World is memorable, what is your most memorable moment.
Mine is when me and my family was at Epcot and it started pouring on us. We got under the outpost and we were waiting it out but it wouldn't stop. We gave up and we decided to run all the way back to the beach club from the far end of the park. It was a lot of fun and we got soaked!

Mine was when I was around 9 years old and it was my first trip to Disney. I actually don't remember to much about the visit. Except waiting in line to ride Space Mountain and for some reason I can remeber getting up to where you get on the ride and started crying and would not get on it. I made my Mom take me off and I got a whoopin for it.

For our first family trip, we didn't tell DD4. It wasn't till we flew down and got on the Magical Express that she finally realized where we were going! The look on her face was absolutely priceless. I couldn't believe how little she cared where we were going or why she had been dragged out of bed at 4am. She was just excited to go someplace.

when we took my son to wdw for the first time (1yr 7mos). We were in the MK early in the day. We got on line for the horse drawn trolley. My son and I were the only on the ride. The cast member had us ride in the front seat and handed my son the reins. It was so cool having him pull the reins to stop the trolley at the end of mainst.

it's weird because I have so many great memories but the one that I tend to brag about is going on a backstage tour at animal kingdom. once of the first things we went by was an area where the cheetahs would be on your right (they had what looked like a big doghouse I be honest in their set area) an on the left was a rhino, a rhino right up against the fence an a rhino that this lucky little tour group all got to pet. it's one I those things that is made cooler just because how many peoe can say they have?

(also on the same note in non Disney verse sea world is amazing. I actually put that above both universals, and honestly maybe above Studios even. they too offered a sort of behind the scenes walking your as well. when I went like 8 years ago it was 12 bucks and at the end, after seeing some amazing views from other sides of exhibits (pictures were allowed btw) you got to go to the penguin exhibit and you got to pet a penguin! I think I lit that in my wallet for like 4 years. (the girlfriend at the time whos picture it replaced was not pleased)

I don't know if I pick just one! I do remember the very first time I rode Soarin' and it was an exhilarating experience because I had never experienced a park ride anything like it. The same held true when I rode Peter Pan's Flight for the first time ever at age 18. I've had many character memories in my past few trips and I've shared a few on this thread and I will share many more when asked :) But I think seeing Cinderella Castle in 2009 is probably the most memorable. Why 2009? It was the first time in seven-eight years I saw the iconic castle after the walk down Main Street USA. I wasn't the huge Disney fan that I am today and if you brought me to WDW in my early teen years, I would've scoffed and said, "That's just a castle. Nothing to see." But on that 2009 trip, I stood in amazement how beautiful it was and I always look in awe every time I see it on my Disney trip.

that's good though, that means you didn't take notice during that stretch when the castle was attacked by Pepto Bismol!

You mean, when it was all covered up with like candy and icing stuff for the 25th Anniversary back in '97, I think? I saw pictures of the castle in books, videos and such but my parents didn't bring me to WDW during that time.

See my avatar photo....on DD's 5th birthday, she was up at 5am and too excited to go back to sleep so we headed to MK around 6am for an 8am opening. First folks at the turnstiles. As the CMs came by and gave DD lots of stickers, she was giving them back to the CMs so they could have a sticker, too! We then sat down and were playing a card game when a CM came up to her and asked if she would like to help Mickey open the park. After the drive through the park on the fire engine and meeting ALL those characters in toon town, DD played peek-a-boo with Pluto and Mickey on the train - just awesome. After throwing out the confetti to open the park, she wouldn't let go of Mickey's hand - even when it was time for him to go backstage! My wife and I still cry when we talk about it at all.

I was too busy then building a career and doing other things...I am so glad I missed the "cake castle"...

Though, I will forever now call it Pepto-magic (pun on Spectromagic) thanks to @litaljohn.

haha exactly. it looked okay but it was so much work to do and it took a while to complete. I remember going once and it was sans icing and candles and life saver rings and junk it honestly just looked Pepto pink

My nephews kept tickling me on the People Mover. I could help but laugh. I kept calling out, "Stop! Stop!", occasionally calling to my sister for help, but she was useless and finally said, "I'm on their side."

I couldn't help the laughing. Really couldn't.

I know it had to be unpleasant for those around us and did speak to the kids about that later. I was so embarrassed getting off that ride.

Totally my most memorable event at WDW.

Spirit of aloha rained out, wearing the cheap ponchos they give you, and watching my kids play in the rain. learning that my son son could suck in his nose amd showing everyone that night. The other would be my girls opening BBB! All priceless!
