Hi All! My DH, DSs and I have an agreement of to visit the World every 3 years. We are going this summer. :) I would like to make it a biannual event. How do you get your spouse/mate to agree to more trips? I look forward to reading suggestions. Thanks.

My fiancé and I both equally love Disney so convincing him is never the issues. Unfortunately our issue is convincing our jobs for more weeks off in a year and also convincing our wallets :(

I am a major Disney lover, DH tolerated it but he really had a good time this past October, however, there is a motto we live by in this household "If Momma ain't happy nobody's happy" and telling me that I cant go to Disney, is a VERY dangerous thing... as my DS says ..... RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!! So, yeah DH decides to visit Disney with me ;)

I totally understand about convincing the wallet. I always try to rationalize it by knowing we go on a vacation every year so why not spend it on Disney. I rather go there than anywhere else.

I love your attitude!! You are right. I should just start planning trips and if he want's to join us he can because "If Momma ain't happy nobody's happy".

This sounds backwards but find out his reasons for being "meh" about it. Then, find how Disney addresses those points. My wife despises Florida (no real reason that I can see) and hated the thought of going there. The trip that changed her mind was one where we used the Magical Express, stayed at the Contemporary (although she now likes Port Orleans), and we enjoyed the parks and the resorts equally via the monorail. She still isn't as gung-ho as myself but she is more on board than ever. She loves the one-stop shop method where we don't need a car and don't have to worry about long commutes or anything.

Another way would be to do a vacation for him on the off years.

Thanks. This is very good advice! He can pick every other year. And I know he loves the one-stop shop method like your wife. Everyone likes a worried free vacation!

My husband likes fishing (as well as Disney) so we go to the beach every summer for a week so he can fish, crab, whatever. Come winter then, it's off to WDW so I can shop, eat and whatever...

Once the family has all their basic needs met, I say we can afford it. However, some people would disagree with me when I rather put off household upgrades for a trip.

My times running out!:( No its not my age,it's my DS who turned 15 in oct last year ( 2012 ) We have had 5 trips since 2004 ( he was just 6 ) but this year we're off to Dubai to visit son in law and he is looking more forward to it than WDW :( To be honest,a trip to Disney without him wouldn't be the same,so all going well,2014 might be my last.:( And before you ask,the thought of Disney with just the DW and myself doesn't appeal to me.

My wife and I are in agreement regarding WDW. We would probably go less often were it not for our daughter, but we went long before my daughter was born, and we will go long after she stops sponging us of our hard earned money.
