More Boat Transportation?

Was thinking about transportation in general at WDW and I know how costly monorail transport would be to expand, and how a lot of us don't care for buses, so came up with the idea of adding additional boat transportation. Looking at a map of WDW, some of the resorts are pretty close to each other, as well as pretty close to some of the Parks. Like, Animal Kingdom Lodge to Animal Kingdom, or Caribbean Beach to Epcot for a couple of examples.

What do you think? If it turned out to be not terribly expensive to do, would you find it useful to have additional boat service from some of the bus only resorts to other resorts or the Parks?

I think the busses would still be a better choice. Boats would be traveling at a slower speed on the water ways, you would be more limited in the number of passengers allowed where the buses can cram guests in. The turn around times to transport guests to resorts by bus on a crowd filled evening would be faster as well. If it would be faster and more cost effective Disney would have implemented it already.

Well, AKL does offer a way to skip the line at the safari, just go out on your balcony.
That's why I love that resort! Seeing the animals and hopefully see Avatar from the resort. We are going to try the Poly this December. Looking forward to the monorail, boat and bus option to get around. The boats look relaxing. A nice way to end a day at the parks.

Watercraft are very inefficient methods of transporting guests at WDW. They have very low capacity and are extremely slow.

I hate the buses, but looking at it from a numbers perspective, buses are the best mode of transportation on property.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Friendship boats. They're hot, noisy and slow. I'd rather walk between Epcot/DHS and the Epcot Resorts than take a boat. But that's just me.

the best thing they could do is offer express friendship boat service between DHS and Epcot without any stops. This would reduce loading on the current resort service as well as eliminate the need for bus transportation to Epcot from DHS. Connecting more resorts to the parks would be another great perk but I just don't see it happening in any significant way.

Well, the biggest issue is that there is no water connection between AKL and AK so that's not going to happen.

Being a deluxe is more about the accommodation level not transportation. After all, PO has boat transportation and isn't a deluxe. Transportation is about the available options not the accommodation level.

As others says, the best available option appears to be buses.
