The scandal is over...or is it?
Yesterday's breakdown of Monorail Red was yet another snag in the notorious Red's performance at the Magic Kingdom park. The breakdown caused widespread delays along the outer beam creating a full one hour delay for those hoping to snag an express monorail to the M.K.
Today Red appeared to be operating smoothly as if yesterday's half aborted exit out of the Magic Kingdom station hadn't ever happened.
The memory of an embarrassing towing to Shop didn't even seem to phase Red's operationals today.
"Why can't Red just get it up and on out of the station?" asked Shaniqua Ray outside TTC. "Like Coral, or Monorail Lime...they seem to do it all the time!"
"They don't have any problems!"
Most others around Shaniqua nodded in agreement.
"Hell," commented another frequent Red-rider, "my boyfriend's got a one track mind too and he don't pull that s**t on me!" Others around her looked puzzled. She further explained:
"His car is fully operational before he and I drive off." "If I am going to be a passenger in his chev-ro-let, then it awwwl betta be hella tight"
The general consensus among monorail passengers appeared to be an air of aggravated disappointment towards the habitually problematic crimson monorail when it pulled into the station.
"So are we next?" muttered a rather large southern gentleman in cutoffs and a wifebeater to the crowd.
"Are we the next victims of Red? Stuck in its cabin for 2 hours till it gets its act together or when tugger 3 comes out again?"
Some however were less tactful in their observations, citing devastatingly specific areas of malfunction for Red.
A monorail driver on condition of anonymity told this WDWMagic member that "Monorail red has a history of propulsion problems".
With that noted, this reporter believes its safe to say that Monorail red is a hazard then to all Monorail passengers everywhere.
Next time you see 'Red', make sure you stop, and look both ways. Lime might have already left, but skip this one, Coral might be coming.
